Slitherin gagh and some bloodwine sure sounds good to me!

*Pulls up a chair and enjoys*

Thanks kev, it's good to see ya. :D

Hey Goldie! :) It's good to see you back in here.

Anyway...I've got good news, for myself mostly, lol. I'm getting a DSL connection tomorrow, so after that I'll be able to surf 24/7 again. :D Good stuff! :)

I don't know you Goldie but hi from me as well.

Speaking of long lost fellow Niners, does anybody know what happened to Tosk. I remember he used to post here a lot, and all of a sudden nothing, zippo, for months .

^ Yeah, you're right, I haven't seen Tosk around here in quite a while. If anyone can get in touch with him, let him know that he should come around and say hi. :)

I just saw a post from Tosk, in the Sci Fi & Fantasy board. He's got a Spider Man 2 av right now (Spidey without his mask on).

^How do you like that DSL, man? That was the first type of high-speed connection I had at home, and it was beautiful!! Flying connection, downloads like crazy. But then my service started going off too many times and finally just conked out altogether. So, I've been on cable for a couple of years now. It doesn't clock in as fast as DSL, but downloads are still flying

Hey :) Well, it's the exact same connection (well, the UL is slightly slower, but I don't care) as I had last year, before I moved to Canada. So basically, I love it. :D It's fast, it's reliable and I don't have any restrictions (like I did with Shaw, 30GB / month ...ugh!). :)

Hi guys

Since other forums are preoccupied with threads about Atlantis and catsuits I thought I could use a little break and come in here, give this thread a bump and see what you guys are up to. Is anybody planing on seeing I Robot this week. Anybody seen it already? What do you think about it?

As for me I bought Station Agent DVD on Wednesday. Unfortunately special features are practically non existent and the commentary isn't the most exciting one but I loved the movie on the big screen and I love it on DVD as well.

I'm going to see I Robot on Tuesday and I really have no idea what to expect. I've heard some good things and some bad things too so I guess I will have to wait until Tuesday and judge for myself.

We gotta keep this thread alive people :D.

Hey vermillion

I don't have any plans to see I Robot anytime soon. I might go see it before I go back to school, but I decided to take a little brake from the theater.

Anyway, I just got back from a weeklong family camp (Privatly owned lake by the YMCA) trip in the Fresno CA area. (If anyone is familer, that's close to Kings Canyon National Park) It's something I have done for the last 18 years (Not including a year I broke my coler bone) and it's the one vacation I can't miss every year. Unfortunatly the fishing sucked, and the food was mediocure at best, but it was fun hanging out with people I only get to see for one week during the year.

Hey. :)

Well...I could rave about how much I loved the Atlantis pilot, but I'll spare you that. :D

My g/f saw I, Robot a couple of days ago, which made me a bit jealous cos I can't. :( At least not soon...it doesn't start playing here until october and I'm going back to Canada at the end of september. So if it's still playing then, I'll go see it, and if not I'll just get the DVD.

Anyway...I haven't been up to much. Been watching some TV, reading some Trek books (I'm in the middle of Prophecy & Change right now), just...hanging out. :) I've been meaning to go see The Day After Tomorrow, but the weather here is just to nice to justify me driving for half an hour to the nearest cinemaplex and go see it, lol. In case you're wondering, yes we do have a couple of theatres in the town where I live but they're not playing the movie anymore. :)

Hey again :)

Well I watched The Girl Next Door earlier today and I have to say I enjoyed it (for what it was). :) It's just a funny movie, hehe. One other thing I noticed, whenever I was watching 24, I could never stand Kim Bauer. I was never sure whether it Elisha Cuthbert herself, or just her performance. Well, after seeing The Girl Next Door, I have to say I like Elisha. She was actually hot in the movie, lol (unlike on 24). So yeah...my g/f hasn't seen it yet, so once I get back to Canada I might get it on DVD so we can watch it again. It just...that fun. :D

I also watched Hellboy last night...and while there were bits of it that were fun, overall...it was just sort of meh. It felt like sort of a mess. Honestly, if I had to pick which of the two movies to watch again in the next two hours, I'd definately pick The Girl Next Door.

Well, I'll throw in here, just to say hello! :)

Actually, I've not been much on the board the past several days. First, because I have been building and taking pictures of MY NEXT CONTEST HOUSE. We were given only the outside barebones sheetrocked walls of that house and the task was to "Design it Modern"...from the wall textures, paint and wallpaper to the furnishings and landscaping. We had to have 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an office area on the second floor, and a pool with patio in the completed house. I finished late last week. We'll see what happens. :)

I also have been watching *alot* of The X-Files. I had been buying the DVD sets all along when they came out, but had fallen woefully behind in watching them. Until last week, I was creeping thru the beginning of season 3! So I decided to pick up my sets and get serious. This turned out to be alot easier than expected, cus seasons 3 and 4 are FANTASTIC. I've been watching episodes pretty much every day, and am now toward the beginning of season 5. I still have a long way to go as all 9 seasons are sitting on my shelf. But at least I've made some progress! What a great show!

I also watched Stargate Atlantis the other night, and was REALLY impressed. I watch and like SG-1...and I think Atlantis has alot of potential. They just have to be careful to make these characters different from the SG-1 characters...

I've also decided that I really need to start working out again, and so have been doing a bit of that this past week. It is making me feel a bit better...but it will be a long time before any real effects occur because of it. Hopefully, I can keep at it though!

That's about it, from this end, folks!

:)

The house looks nice Vash. :)

I haven't been doing much lately, just work. :borg: I should start exercising to lose weight sometime, along with trying to get back in comp sci for the upcoming term.

Hey everyone,

I haven't been doing too much lately, just reorganizing my DVDs. I discovered I'll probably need to buy a new DVD cabinet since the one I got now is starting to run out of room.

I start my summer phys. ed. class tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to that.

Hey everybody! It's been a while since I've posted in here. Just got back from seeing I, Robot, and I must say it was better than I expected it to be. I love Alex Proyas' other flicks (The Crow, Dark City), but I was still cautious, based on the somewhat silly previews.

Will Smith did fine for the most part, but there were a couple moments when I wished that they had cast somebody else. His delivery at times was pretty distracting.

The visual effects and camerawork were VERY cool most of the time, especially during the action-packed climax. Some of those camera swings and movements give the Matrix films a run for their money, IMO. Sonny the Robot was done very well, and was easily the best character in the movie.

I'll stop there. I think it's worth seeing on the big screen, and if you can get past the Smithisms, you should have a fun ride. ***1/2/*****

Thanks for keeping the thread going vermillion. Have a raktajino!

With all the talk about Atlantis, I might as well blow a breath of fresh air in here and mention Firefly :D Kidding, but I thought it was interesting that Alan Tudyk (Wash, the pilot) is the voice and model for the accused robot (and possibly all the robots). I plan to see I, Robot soon, so I'll have to see if any of his Washisms shines through ;)

There are a few movies I want to see coming up. Along with Smith's thing, there's The Borne Supremecy and yes, Catwoman  As always, great dedication av Montresor, that's one you had up after they revealed the costume, right? I'm kinda torn on what to see first, none of those really stand out for me.

Vash, you're gonna have to be my designer when(if)ever I'm able to build my own home. I wish you the best in the contest and in your exercise. I'm trying to get into a better eating/exercise habit myself. I'll pray for you, you pray for me ;)
