Enjoy! I'll say a prayer that your showing isn't overrun with crying babies, talkative brats, and cellphone rings. Godspeed! :D

That was something I loved when I went. There were not very many people in there, and they were mostly adults for some reason.

Enjoy the movie Bigfoot. It really is a fun movie.

Regarding 24 (SPOILER ALERT):

Well, I have to admit not caring about Chase and Kim either. :p Although Kim was not nearly as annoying as in prior seasons, she is still Stupid Kim to me. And therefore, any plot sourrounding her, I don't really care about.

I thought the ending, with Jack having a meltdown before pulling it together and going back to work, was excellent. I think that the audience needed to see that, because we really haven't seen Jack lose it since Teri died.

Can't *believe* Sherry is dead. I really thought she would be critically injured, but not dead. Goodbye Kassidy! :(

I wonder also about whether Palmer will pardon Tony. But more important in my mind is whether Palmer will really not run for reelection.

And here I was, all set to write in "David Palmer" in November! :p

Well Shrek 2 was a lot of fun. :D I was laughing my ass off through the whole movie. And whoever said that Antonio Banderas pretty much stole the show was right. Anyway...I'm tired and sleepy so I'm gonna go to bed now. I might post some more thoughts about it tomorrow. :)

^ My mom wants to go see Shrek 2, but it'll probably be on PPV or DVD in about 6 months. I'll just add it to my list of movies to go watch. :)

Has anyone checked out TrekLit lately? Apparently, Amazon has posted some pics for the Ships of the Line 2005 calendar, and there's a DS9 one! :D Here's the thread. :)

^ Heh.

Guess all the bitching we did last year to Marco paid off. :p

Good to see the Defiant in the calandar again! :)

^ Yeah, it's definately good to see the Defiant in the line-up again. I don't think the position from which the shot of the Definat was taken is perfect though. It's too much from the side. At least IMO. :)

Well, I'm heading off to the theater to see The Day After Tomorrow. Hopefully it'll turn out to be more than a mediocre movie with great visual effects, but I'm not holding my breath! :D We'll see...

I'm back! Well, the worst thing about the movie was the trailer for White Chicks that ran before it. Yeeeccch! Anyway, TDAT was a more-than-decent disaster flick, and I enjoyed it much more than The Core and far more than Armageddon. Some of the dialogue was cheesy, naturally, and it seemed a trifle preachy at the end, but overall a good effort. There really isn't much story to speak of, and there were a few extraneous characters, but the effects were very good and I was never bored (which happened once or twice for me during Troy). Don't know if I'd own the movie, but I'd probably at least give it a rent later. ***1/2/*****

Hey All! As always, I have to rush in & catch up after a long weekend. I don't even think I turned on my computer this weekend. That's just weird for me

I love talking about 24, so if I can make some quick comments:

I have to give Kim a lil respect this time. She wasn't a liability and they actually gave her a few decent things to say & do. And she didn't hesitate to lay out that guy who was about to grab her outside the library! Looks like her former experience putting 2 slugs in the wife-abuser wasn't in vain. :p

I will definitely miss Penny Johnson Jerald, but I will not miss Sherry MacPalmer for an iota. Her actions this season couldn't come to any conclusion other than death. I thought it was gonna be Wayne's henchman to do it, but having Zoe (Firefly reference, sorry Vash) do it was even better. Shame she won't be back either.

And Steven, I literally jumped out my seat & started hollaring when the ax came down. Between that and Sherry being shot, I couldn't contain myself!! I just knew (or thought) that they'd a last minute save, but they didn't. And that's why I love 24.

I can see how all the scandals and the destructive conclusion to the scenarios surrounding David could lead to his desire not to run again. He's a good man who thought he could do some good for the country by becoming President. Unfortunately, there are just too many "compromises" you have to make in certain positions. So I can see why David & Chase want to move on. Jack has decided he has to be at the hardest level, and that's painful considering the prices he's paid. I could really feel the pain all three of them were feeling.

I can see Tony & Michelle leaving too because of the sacrifices they've been called to make, and if rumors are to be true, neither they nor Chase will be back next season. I hope it's not true cause I'd love to see them at least cameo again. I wonder how they'll be able to top themselves next season. They sure know how to keep this stuff gut-renching.

Hey, does anyone know where I can check out some good quality region-free DVD players? I'm also looking for one that will play the different recordable DVD formats & video CDs.

I'm asking here cause, well, I trust y'all ;)

Well guys...it is time for another house-building contest on the BBS I'm a member of for The Sims.

This time the contest is called "Self Sufficient Sim". Basically, you have to build a house that has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room and one other room...plus an outside bathroom (outhouse). You also have to have livestock, a natural water source, and crops.

HERE is my entry.

I'd love to know what you guys think. :)

Wow Vash. I don't know what goes into designing stuff on the Sims, but you sure do a great job as far as I can tell. Ima have to get you to design me a real house

^ Yeah, I agree. The house looks great Vash. :)

We rented LOTR ROTK tonight, so I finally got to see it again (I only saw it once at the theatre) and man it was fun. :D I can't wait for the EE.

Alright, to everyone that told me I should watch Pitch Black, I did. I just finished it about five minutes ago. I liked it, I thought it was well done, I usually like Vin Diesel, and I really liked Fry (Radha Mitchell). I absolutely loved the opening, with the ship going down and the title Pitch Black showing up, it was awesome. :D
Anyway...I don't know if I'm gonna go see CoR in the theatre, cos I doubt my g/f would want to, and I'm sort of broke (plus I still need to get Dead Like Me S1, lol). But yeah, I liked the movie, the only problem is that I had to watch it on my laptop cos the big TV downstairs was occupied, so I didn't really see it in full glory. So I do want to see it on a bigger screen in 5.1 once. :) Not sure if I want to own the DVD though.

Glad you liked the movie! I know what you mean about needing to see it properly. My first viewing of it was on my computer monitor (my DVD-ROM drive was my first and only player for a while) and I was really kicking myself that I didn't go see it in the theater! :)

Cool av as always, Montresor. Yep, time for me to join in with my Chronicles dedication

BigFoot, I'm glad you liked Pitch Black. It's one of my sleeper favs. I've been meaning to get the DVD, and now that they have re-released it, it may be a good time to jump on it. If you can afford it, I'd see CoR in the theatre if I were you. Just the massive look of the scenes in the trailers convinced me that this is MADE to be seen on the big screen! Pitch Black was excellent on the big screen too, so I'm looking forward to better. And to seeing what kind of story this one will carry.
