Oh yeah, ROTK came out today. I almost forgot.

Today has been a not so very productive day. Because it's finals this week, I didn't have any today, so I spent most of it studying for my spanish. I'm nervous as heck about it because I havn't done well on the tests this whole semester. Fortunatly, I have done well (Top of the class so says the teacher) in terms of doing work and performing (Participating) in class. I still don't know the difference and how to use gramatically between Direct object pronoun, indirect object pronoun or the worst, double object pronoun. Despite that, I hope to do well. :D

Man, those were some good days, BigFoot & Montresor. Glad y'all enjoyed them. I'm going to have to try the 2 movies in one day thing. I've never done it before. One of those things I'll have to put on my list of "things to do before I die" :D

Hang on in there tomalak31. I took French throughout high school & college, and I still can barely put together a decent sentence or congugate a verb  I think I'll have to get some software or take in a class; I really would like to know it & Spanish.

My day - bleh. I woke up, went to work, came home, about to go bed. Heh. ;) One highlight was I got through a meeting with a lady who I want to stop getting all in a funky mood over. I really did send up a prayer that I wouldn't allow myself to get pissed off by her. God answered cause we had a good meeting and I felt very positive coming away from it.

And another highlight - SEASON FINALE OF 24!!! Oh man was that WILD!! I'm simply amazed at how much this show can top itself each season. Lots of stuff went down in this last ep, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in S4.

No kidding, eh? That was a damn good episode! Too bad we have to wait until January for S4. :borg:

Yeah, part of me wishes that there was a cliffhanger or surprise of sorts at the end, but Jack's emotional release was pretty damn effective and makes sense. It does suck that we have to wait til January--and I suppose that's another reason not to have a cliffhanger!--but that means no midseason breaks, right? Imagine, 24 straight weeks of 24! :D

^ I don't know about the cliffhanger. I didn't really care for the one last year, so I'm happy that they wrapped everything up in the finale.

The last scene was well done. Just seeing everything catching up with Jack and then he just has to go right back to work, it's really sad... :(

As for next year, I think that they're planning to have it without any breaks (barring important speeches from the President of the United States, whoever that may be).

^ I'd just like to ask everyone discussing 24 not go post any spoilers for the finale in here. I won't get to see it until today (my g/f was working last night), so I really don't want to be spoiled. No worries, so far it's all be good. :)

Well, I just finished my Spanish Final. I hope I did well, even though the test was a bit hard. Heres hoping I get out of the class with a C, or better yet a B. I only have one final to go (An in-class English essay) and than summer break. Can't wait.

As for 24, best finale of the series, and probably best season. I'm glad they didn't do the same mistake they did last year, end the season on a cliffhanger and then make it irrelevent. It did feel like a series finale though for some reason.

Can someone clue me in on the "no 24 until January" thing? I must have missed this when I was out of town last week.... ;)

In any event, I loved the ending. Overall, season 3 turned out alot better than season 2, and about on par with season 1, IMO.

As vaguly as possible, to avoid spoilers for BigFoot:

I was totally expecting that one shooting, however. I just knew they where gonna do that. No other reason to bring her in. ;)

^ Thanx Vash. :)

About 24 not starting until January, yeah, that's basically it. Now I don't know if this is cos they just want to have a bigger break, or if there's another reason why they're starting the show so late, but either way, S4 will not start until January 2005.

Alright, so I finally go to see the finale of 24 tonight and man was I impressed. I'm one of those people who like the show, I don't love it, but I still like it. But I absolutely loved the finale, and I think that S3 might actually be my favourite. Either way, while most of the stuff in this ep was predictable I still loved it and I thought the last scene with Jack in the car was just...great. I just really felt for the guy.
Anyway, Vash are we allowed to discuss the episode in here or not? Cos if we are I wouldn't mind chatting about it a little more in detail, also speculate about S4. If not, I'll just take my thoughts into the 24 thread in misc.

Anyway...I watched a lot of Buffy today, first me and my g/f watched Once More With Feeling, man I just love that ep everytime I see it. :D Then we watched all the OMWF extras, I especialy loved the David Fury featurette. And then we also watched Tabula Rasa. Hehe....Randy Giles. :D Anyway...I've had a fun day today, school's been a little less demanding in the last week or so. I had my last midterm last friday, so that's cool. I think I'm gonna watch some more of Buffy S6 tomorrow, I'm really in the mood for it right now. :)

Oh yeah, if anyone cares, Dead Like Me season 1 is coming out on DVD on june 15th. As long as I can afford it, I'll definately be getting it. I watched the whole season twice last year and I absolutely loved it. I can't wait for S2 to begin. :) So, any other DLM fans around here?

Hi guys. I'm back from my vacation (not that anyone noticed I was away or anything but it makes for a nice intro to my post).

I bought Bubba Ho-tep the other day and I liked it so much I had to temporary change my avatar and my sig. This movie is another proof that Bruce = God. Yeah, nobody fucks with the king baby! :D

I'm not planing on taking any classes this summer so I will have plenty of free time on my hands. I want to rent couple of sci-fi TV shows. I might rent Earth: Final Conflict and also I was thinking about renting Farscape but unfortunately I don't know anything about that show. Is it similar to any of the Star Trek shows or Babylon 5? Is Earth: Final Conflict better than Andromeda? I sure hope it is.
Do you have any other cinematic suggestions for me?

Farscape is easily my second-favorite sci-fi show, behind DS9 of course, and I think everyone should at least try it out. It's a bit quirkier than most sci-fi, but a lot funnier and more inventive, too. The characters are great and varied, and a few main ones are puppets made by Jim Henson's company, but they're much more than Muppets! The show has everything: comedy, romance, drama, suspense, and tragedy. The first season is a little hit-and-miss, but once the main villain of the series shows up (whom I like even more than Dukat or Weyoun!) towards the end of the season, watch out! Seasons 2 and 3 are awesome, and season 4, while good, didn't quite do it for me as much as the middle two seasons. The show's not for everybody, but then, what show is?

If you want to sample an episode and get cable, I think SciFi airs reruns at 1am (Eastern time) on Sundays. I'm not sure where in the series they are right now, though.

EDIT: And like DS9, there are some great story arcs that span a season or more, and there are numerous 2- and 3-part episodes that really work well. One more thing, the season finales have perhaps the best cliffhangers I've ever seen! :D

^Man, my list of things to see is getting way to long! I saw some Farscape, but it just didn't do much for me at the time (I think I was going through a whole phase about not wanting to watch much more than DS9 :D). Oh well, I'll have to check it out sometime.

BigFoot, we can discuss ANYTHING in here  24 was definitely a wild ride. I think it started a bit slower this season than in the past, but they more than made up for it as it progressed, and especially with this season. Can we spoil things yet? I won't just yet, but I sure am glad she finally got what was coming to her. Both of them did in fact :p

I thought the end was very fitting. It must be very hard to live a life like those who are in Jack's profession must. I mean, he's trying to do the right thing for our country, but you almost have to get your hands dirty to do so. And the harder you have to fight to do the right thing, the dirtier & bloodier things seem to get. I like this show cause it so effectively displays the price often paid for the greater good.

You can discuss anything you like in this thread, BigFoot...that is what this thread is for. I'd love to discuss 24 with you guys, in fact!

I post in the Misc 24 threads...but I'd love to discuss it with you guys too. ;) No reason why the Niners can't discuss the show in here...

^ Alright, sounds good to me.

So I guess this applies to anyone that hasn't seen S3 of 24 yet: SPOILER WARNING! :)

Alright, so does anyone else think that in the break between S3 and S4, however long that may be, Jack is gonna ask Palmer to pardon Tony?
Did anyone else think that it would be really cruel that as soon as Jack chopped off Chase's hand, the would have gotten word from the bomb squad that they figured out how to disarm the bomb? I don't know why, but I was actually sort of expecting that to happen. I'm glad it didn't though. Anyway...I bet Chase's hand is gonna be ok (at least more or less), we'll see what happens with him and Kim though. I honestly don't really care cos I find Kim extremely annoying.
All the stuff with Jack in this ep was awesome though, especially things like him telling Chase that he's a good man, the scene with Palmer on the phone, or the final scene.

I think that Palmer might just pardon Tony now that I think about it. Since he's not seeking re-election, it's not really going to affect his election chances much by pardoning a "traitor" (I know, I don't really consider Tony to be a traitor, but that is the charge, right?). Win-win. ;)

I honestly couldn't believe it when Jack brough down the axe. I practically leaped out of the chair.

And that last scene was really powerful. Jack was under a lot of pressure, not just this season, but overall, and it finally caught up with him. :(

Happy Friday all. Just got back from seeing Troy and Shrek 2

Shrek 2 was funny. Loved the rip-offs of cops, mission impossible, and Ghostbusters (I at least thought it was) It was somewhat the same as the first, but it was still funny. Still like the first though. Puss n Boots was great.

Troy (And for all the orlando bloom fans who are about to maybe hate me right now, hear me out) was a big dissapointment. It was long, cheesy, boring, and just a 2 hour 42 minute advertisment for brad pitt and Orlando bloom. Pitt is overrated, and this was not Blooms best performence, it might have been his worse. Yeah so he was supposed to be a coward, but it just seemed like he didn't care at all. Also, the fight scenes (except for Achellies and Hector's) was cheesy and the CGI was so fake. I know they wanted to make it an epic, but like my reservations about Hulk last year (Special effects ruining the movie) this movie went too overboard on epicness and forgot about the plot. I tryed to like it, but I was bored to tears.

Well, it looks like me and my g/f are gonna go see Shrek 2 tonight. She's been begging me to watch some sort of a cartoon with her and I really don't feel like watching anything by Disney. So I suggested we could go see Shrek 2. I knew she wanted to see it and I know I'll like it. :) So yeah, we're gonna go see it tonight, most likely with a couple of friends. I'll post my thoughts about it tomorrow. :)
