A Klingon, A Ferengi, A Hologram, and YOU!

Hi all, just checking in on my favourite Trek forum. ;) I watched about 5 episodes of B5 last night. I got up to "Signs and Portents" and just have one question, WTF is going on?

 Not sure what you mean there, Steven.

You are still in season 1...which is mostly setup.

You are not really supposed to see all the foreshadowing of what is to come...at this point. Season 1 is much better the second time you view it....*after* you see the whole show. ;)

ORDER UP!! One kanar for the lady vermillion. I think I'll whip out a rokeg blood pie with chocolate sprinkles for myself & anyone else interested . Reading KRAD's Art of the Impossible got me cravin some good ol Klingon cuisine!

Oh boy, Vash must be steaming up her monitor screen  It does look like it's a bit above 60k though (my "Properties" shows 60685 bytes). Don't know if TrekBBS is that strict, but it could get the boot.

Hummm...mine says the same, kev...but it also says 59.23 KB. Wonder which is correct?

Has to be under 60 KB or the board software will automatically kick it out. Charles Capps has alot of this stuff automated now. :p

What do you guys think?

60kb does not equal 60,000 bytes. The actual number is a bit higher (because it's binary), I'm not exactly sure, but you should be okay Vash. :)

And I'm enjoying watching B5, just a few things that happen are a bit weird. Like a spaceship appearing out of nowhere and blowing another one to pieces.

Vash, about the avatar, here's the thing: 1KB is not 1000B, it's actually 1024B, so if something is 60KB, that's actually 61,440B. So I wouldn't be surprised if the av was over the limit. If it is, just let me know which of the pics you want me to remove from the av and I will. :)

Anyway...I had a bit of a shopping spree today. First I went to FutureShop to get The Last Samurai. After that we went to the local mall, so I went to HMV. They had a a big sale thingy (lotz of DVDs where you get 2 for $40 CDN or 2 for $30), so yeah, I also got Wing Commander (I lost my original copy a while ago), Pulp Fiction and Fight Club altogether for $48 CDN (plus tax). :D Fun stuff, now I only have to decide which movies to watch today, lol. :D I think I'm gonna go watch Wing Commander first, it's been a while since I've seen it.

Heck, I guess you could just put it up & see what happens. Hate to see a mod's av get booted tho :p ;)

I know. This would really suck. :p

Not to mention being incredibly embarassing.

Well, I got my $20 rebate today! Guess what time it is!

yep

Well BigFoot, I guess Paramount got their dividends or interest payments last week so they could cut checks. Heck, maybe I'll splurge on a DVD too.

Oh, I forgot:

Now, that's funny

Well, I've exhausted my free trial with Zip, and I managed to get through the first 4 DVDs of the first season of B5. I'm probably going to pick up the box set sometime. I'm really enjoying it. :D Even more so after watching an episode that had Jeffrey Combs in it. ;) :D

And thanks for talking about the rebate, I still have to send mine in. :o

^ Well, don't get too excited about Jeffrey Combs on B5. That is his only appearance.

However, Walter Koenig is there for the duration. ;)

Yep yep, Walter is in a lot of eps. :D Anyway, Steven if you like S1 you're gonna love the following seasons. :)

*covers ears and yells*

I'm not listening! :p

I might pick up the first season this weekend, or I might wait until my first paycheck comes in (a couple weeks from now).

Speaking of guest appearances, George Takei was on Scrubs this past Tuesday. This couple (Turk & Carla for those in the know ;)) were about to get married, and Turk says the minister at the church where he wanted to get married looks like Sulu. Ah, love those Trek references

^ Well, Teryl Rothery (doc Frasier from Stargate) had a tiny role in this week's episode of Smallville. :)

^Really? As who? Much as this may take this thread off-topic, gotta love those obscure sci-fi references

I wasn't aware this thread *had* a topic, kev. That's sorta the beauty of it! :p
