A free Mac program for graphic design?

Does anyone know of a good, but free, Mac program that you can use to make simple graphic designs? I want to make a very simple, black, logo and words only movie poster for my series.

Not sure if they make it for Mac, but you could lookup Inkscape, it's free.

Btw, Adobe Photoshop is a 30-day fully functioning trial.

As said, GIMP & Inkscape are both very good free programs. But if you already have Powerpoint (or its equivalent) or even Word, both of those can do what you want if you're only looking for simple drawing abilities.
