If you are going to start an argument, start an argument. Don't just drop a video randomly, say "look here" and than do no work yourself in the thread.

Its uncivilized and likely unfulliliing, since no one stopping by has any idea what the argument is about since they won't want to click a random clickbait video, and their is no argument provided by the OP.....at all.

Oh my goodness...a female protagonist to appeal to roughly 50% of the population, depending on personal identification? I am shocked, shocked, I tell you! How dare businesses appeal to such market trends? /s

Seriously. What is the controversy here? I like Rey, I like Jyn (mostly). And, if you look at genre fiction with characters like Ripley and Sarah Conner is this really that offensive? I'll answer my own question. No, it's not.

The fact that we even have to think along these lines irritates me.

You have to think of the displaced white male. He has to now share roles with women and *shudder* brown people.

We should all take a moment to think of white males and the struggles they face.

That sounds very likely. There's not a thing wrong with business people and creatives in the entertainment industry doing the smart thing, given that tentpole franchises exist almost wholly to financially support the studios. Star Wars is not high art.

ETA: The narrator and, I presume, author of that video indicts and convicts himself as a fucking moron who will hopefully never be able to trick another human being into breeding with him.

Not to mention all the thousands upon thousands of times films have been structured around the business sense of having a male lead.

I'm sure there's supposed to be some outrage here, or maybe the OP is also the youtube posters looking for views.

Damn! I’m a white male and I didn’t know I had struggles!
