A&E Wants to Bring Back T-Bag

Breakout Kings was originally at FOX but the network passed on it, with A&E stepping in instead to pick it up. The series will feature U.S. Marshals working with convicts to pursue fugitives. The most interesting part of all this, as stated in the thread title, is that the show's producers want to bring Robert Knepper's Prison Break character Theodore "T-Bag" Bagwell back to television screens! Fingers definitely crossed that everyone involved can ink a deal with Knepper for the show to premiere next year.

I reckon they should also reveal that Michael Scofield is still alive and being held in a prison. The first episode should be him breaking out and the main characters failing to capture him. Might make up for that downer Prison Break ending.

Seriously though, T-Bag is a great character and I'd happily watch more of him. He was often the only decent thing in Ss 3 & 4 of PB.

I love T Bag. Such a down right rotten and despicable character. He's definitely a character you love to hate. Knepper knocked it out of the park with that character. I just found out Prison Break is playing on HDnet so I started watching it again today. Though I must say too much of T Bag isn't a good thing. His character got a little old in the final season. But it's been two years so he's a welcome return as long as they use him sparingly.

He's in!

Robert Knepper said:
We're done. We inked a deal. I'm gonna do it! T-Bag will live again! What I realized by saying yes to that is that now they'll entertain the possibility of a T-Bag spinoff. Like a Hannibal Lecter-type series. Or a doll line. It'd be big with the kids!
Filming will begin after Thanksgiving.

First trailer is online! Unfortunately, Knepper appears only briefly in this one. Series premieres Sunday March 6.

Very impressive trailer and the premise and cast has me sold, I'll be watching come March 6th. Also thank god that FOX passed because a show like this needs a home on CABLE not network TV.

This could be good as long as they don't have an escaped convict going on a killing spree every week.

I've heard about this for a while. T-Bag was always for me a good character. But I'll never understand why they decided to tie their hands (no pun intended) so much by amputating his hand as it was a big handicap (again, no pun intended) for the character for the rest of the series and stretched a lot of believability given that T-Bag never got it really properly treated.

I heard about this awhile ago, too, and while I love T-Bag, I don't know if I'll end up watching the show. I'm not a fan of A&E recently, so depending on when it airs or if its available online, I may miss out. I am also, weary. When was the last time A&E had a solid drama that they didn't drive into the ground and ruin? Hornblower? Nero Wolfe?

Looks like a blast. :rommie: Not just T-Bag but also one of the (shudder) McPoyle boys. I would pay real money to see them in a scene together, but I have a funny feeling I'm going to get that for free.

So, is he going to become part of the cast, be a recurring character, or is it just a one time guest appearance? His brief appearance in the trailer suggests just a guest spot, but that could have been filmed before they finalized the deal with him (and perhaps convinced him to do more).

Either way, it's a great hook for the show and definitely has made me even more interested in it then I was before. T-Bag is one of the best villains on television. I'm glad they're doing this on A&E where they have a bit more freedom to push the envelope than they might on Fox.
