A different BOBW

So the Borg have killed your universe, that's no reason to let your personal grooming go to hell.

You guys are being waaaay too cynical.

The premise to this plot may be flawed in its presentation and not in its actual execution.

I'd like to see the written script before I pass judgement.

But it would be a justifiable reason...they assimilated Picard for his tactical knowledge, when really you could get that from scanning the ships...and the cube was so heavily armed/fortified it didn't really need that much in the way of knowledge of enemy tactics!

I understand your reasoning. For all we know, the Borg did this type of thing many times before, grabbing one fairly knowledgeable person to facilitate things.

But yeah, even scanning a ship wouldn't be necessary for them to just destroy it, or assimilate it's crew, but it couldn't hurt.

But with BOBW being only the 2nd encounter (that we know of) with the Borg, how could they know Picard was that important? Outside of those "attacks on outposts" mentioned in Neutral Zone, when could they have gained that information?
