A couple of Facebook Questions..

1st) How do you turn off the auto populate feature (IE: when you type someones name it auto fills it in), or when someone does the same for you you get the "mentioned you" notice.

2nd)
someone had/shared a video of a young lady who leaped from her window to her death she fell about 8 floors to a roof below.
I reported it ( under their Harmful/Self Harm/suicidal/etc., tab) and got
this reply;

Thank you for taking the time to report something that you feel may violate our Community Standards. Reports like yours are an important part of making Facebook a safe and welcoming environment. We reviewed the share you reported for containing self-harm and found it doesn't violate our Community Standards.

Really? I would think leaping from a highrise window ledge is self harm?

1) Go to your privacy settings and select Timeline and Tagging. You should find what you need there.

2) Unfortunately, they say that about a lot of things that clearly do violate their CS. Maybe try reporting it again. IIRC, that worked for me once. Probably just got reviewed by a different person. One thing I have learned from experience is that, if an entire Page is a problem, don't just report the Page. Report each individual post that violates the CS. They seem to be more willing to take down posts than entire Pages.

Okay, I looked more carefully... You can't prevent someone from tagging you. You can only control whether it shows up on your own timeline. Sorry, I know that isn't what you wanted to hear!

Funny timing: a post from Facecrooks just came across my news feed confirming that one can't disable tagging completely and giving directions for controlling it as much as possible. You might want to "like" and follow Facecrooks. It's a good source of reliable info on all manner of Facebook quirks, scams and confusion.

ah that would may explain why when typing some names it does highlight or populate when typing names?
