^ I'm not. I am suggesting that the reason Harlan let them use the Guardian in OGAM might not have been simply because they asked him, but because OGAM was a 'free' fan film. There'd be no money to be made from it, thus no reason to turn them down - it wouldn't "hurt" to let them use it.
If, however, a TV show, novel or film wanted to use it, Harlan might not want to get into a protracted battle over how much he'd get paid, so he might not think it worth the effort.
