I'm not an ageist, but I think one of the problems with recent Trek films, in terms of lack of box office, were that they were about a bunch of old people. Fundamentally, young audiences don't want to see films about old people. They don't fit the action/adventure film mold.

You are correct.Nowadays it is all about image I mean IMAGE.Old people look terrible on the big screen with every wrinkle and nose hair visible.

Only actors under the age of 30 or better still 27 should be allowed in front of the camera.Who wants to see a bunch of old farts nowadays?

Films are about escapism,not reality and old people actors just remind you you are getting older,therefore negating the point of escapism

Young people look attractive,are full of energy and dynamism.The audience fantasises about them from every point, including sexually.
