Spoilers A big hint about the finale/season 3 has dropped...

Am I the only one thinking the DISC will sail off into the future, and the crew ends up on a Constitution class Discovery, NCC-1031-A?
Nah, where the ship goes, they'll find a way to have the crew go with it. Not sure how but I'm virtually certain that's how it works out.

"Folks, believe me, I don't know what Real Star Trek is but Real Star Trek is the best Star Trek you've ever seen. No one makes better Star Trek than the people who make Real Star Trek. That I can tell you. But no money in the future?! Give me a break! And bumps on foreheads? What is that?! Can you imagine looking at that on your TV every week? But that's okay. I like Star Trek. Real Star Trek, folks. See all those beautiful women Captain Kirk kissed? 10s, all of them. And I love the Ferengi! Any Ferengi fans out there?! I love the Ferengi. Let me tell you any Star Trek that treats the Ferengi poorly is Fake Star Trek! It's Fake Star Trek, people."

Really? I missed that. It doesn't rally make much sense, but then again, nothing in this mushroom thing does.
How Are Mushrooms More Similar to Humans than Plants?
However, thanks to modern technology, the analysis of genetic relationships between species and organisms is now possible, and it shows something very interesting. By examining the genes of different species, both animal and fungi, the mutational changes can be observed, and genealogical relationships can be determined that go back millions of years.

As it turns out, animals and fungi share a common ancestor and branched away from plants at some point about 1.1 billion years ago. It was only later that animals and fungi separated on the genealogical tree of life, making mushrooms more closely related to humans than plants
.
I think the real Paul Stamets has contributed to this

Yes, I know that. Fungi are closer to animals than plants, this is not news. This was about the plot point that the space fungi were compatible with only humans, not Andorians, Vulcans, Kelpiens etc. This is what would be weird. Why humans, why not any of those other species?

So it seems to confirm Michael is the one who sent the 7 signals in this screengrab. You can see 7 red dots "Signal 4" "Signal 6" and "crystal charge level."

The original plan they have prob goes south so last minute Michael knows to send the 7 signals to get the timeline corrected.
I see a group of 5 red dots and a group of 6... where do you see seven?

Because both originated in Earth.

How? Has this been actually said on the show? How the fuck a multiverse spanning dimensional fungal network could have originated on Earth?
Is there a reason it can't? It's still a science fiction show right? Stranger thing have been found on Earth.

It's named for an extinct species of fungi called Protaxites.

If they were to get a new ship, it wouldn't have to be named Discovery. Discovery works on its own as a show name.
I'm all for Discovery-A based on Sovereign class taking place in 28th Century!! ;) Any info if E-E sets are still available somewhere? Probably all torn down by now, right?

I hope people who want a Pike Series get it. But people hoping that Discovery takes place on the Enterprise and Burnham is gone? No. That's something else. Face it: This isn't your Star Trek series and it's not ever going to be.

If CBSAA wants to put out Star Trek series all-year round, wait for the one you'll like or ask for the one you would like. And just accept that Discovery isn't for you. There's no law that says we have to like every Star Trek series and there's certainly no law that says we have put ourselves through watching every single episode of every single one of them if we're not going to enjoy it.

Excellently put. I see too much conjecture about and demand for all these convoluted means to "fix" something that isn't remotely broken.
