When Capaldi was announced I predicted that we would get the Gregory House version of the Doctor, and while it's not exactly what we ended up with, I think it's reasonably close.
I loved that! "Hie!!"Was that venusian aikido the Doctor used to knock Robin's sword away?
Very Pertwee like just then.
And man, someone really wasn't watching their continuity. i.e. the Tardis door when they meet Robin.
What happened with that? I just re-watched it and still didn't see an issue.
I gave it a good but I'd rate it personally as 4.5/5. Another really good episode. At the beginning when the Doctor had a sword fight with a spoon, I though "oh crap, here's the typical Moffat silliness again" but other than that nitpik it was a really good episode, very enjoyable!
I find it rather worrying that for the third episode in a row, the writers are riffing on old stories -.
So, third week in a row we get a Game of Thrones actor being offed. Ser Dontos, then Dolours Edd and now Mace Tyrell. It's almost a theme now!
How the HECK does shooting a golden arrow at a space ship FIX THE ENGINES enough to make orbit?
Supposedly the added gold caused a power spike which was enough to get the ship into orbit.
Hm, unlike the Cypermen, these robots thrived on gold.
