80's technology picture thread!

I am terrified by the 80s. I'm so glad I don't remember them.

The 80's were great. Much better than the 2000's ever were. The 70's were good too, at least the last half. Beats now by miles.

God, I hate today........

I disagree.

The new millennium is great. Much better then the 80's ever were. The 90's were good too, at least the last half. Beats ancient times by miles.

This thread is giving me serious flashbacks. I'm not kidding. I think I'm kinda starting to taste all those additives that has since been banned. And Jumbo Cheese Doodles. Gods I loved those.

This one is for Emher:

I know you want one...

You all suck with your lame computers! This was the shit in the 80s:

Amstrad CPC 6128

(well, with the exception of the Apple II e :shifty: )

Doh! I was going to post an Amstrad. I remember reading those ads in magazines back in the 80's and I so had to have one.

** You can get an Amstrad 1512 PC for only $999! **

Does it have to be technology?

'Cause even Raider tasted better then Twix before they changed the name. Just sayin'.

And I miss Fido Dido.

80s technology used to explain more terrifying 80s-ish technology:

Protect And Survive

I remember those films well. Even as a little toddler they scared me from television for life.

What's wrong with Sega Genesis? I had many years of fun with mine (and my Nomad). I was just playing some Genesis games yesterday.

Well, it started out okay, but become kind of pedestrian. Plus, by the time, Sega was too interested with with trying other things instead of sticking with what worked.

I strongly believe that, had they forgone the Sega CD, Saturn, and all the business and delayed the Dreamcast a few years, the PlayStation would have gone the way of the 3DO.

Yes, but did Sega have anything this bodacious and to the max as this:

Though that guy's hair is pretty cool...
You keep your power glove off her, pal!

Cant believe no one posted this one yet...

I haven't seen any pictures yet of military technology.

Let me therefore present the tank that never was--the M247 Sergeant York, canceled in 1985:

M247_2.jpg

M60 tank chassis: 10 thousand dollars
F-16 radar: 100 thousand dollars
Air-defense tank that mistakes telephone poles for targets and can't hit a hovering drone: priceless.

Or the best aircraft that never was: The F-20 Tigershark. (DarkHelmet knows what I'm talkin' about. :techman:)

Ah, another youngster with no appreciation for what came before.

Take it from me son, the ONLY thing good about today is my girlfriend. But if I could trade my life now for my life twenty years ago, I'd do it without hesitation or remorse, and with a smile on my face.

Of course, I'd take her with me.

I have an actual Intellivision around here somewhere....

[re: a 5-1/4" Floppy case] I love how they were lockable - as if that would deter anyone from stealing your Oregon Trail if they really wanted to. Sort of like those hooks on screen doors that pass as a "lock".

What's even more funny is that them being lockable is stupid, because if someone wanted what was in it they could simply just take the whole box!

Also; a personal home-movie maker!

My dad had one similar to this. You carried a chunk of your VCR with you to serve as the "recorder" for the camera.
