"Live forever with their lover" is romantic way of saying keep the cooking and childcare coming.
Yeah, that would have been ideal. But every Trek series has had a female character in a form-fitting or revealing outfit, from Uhura to T'Pol. Even Kes had a tight-fitting bodysuit for a while. I've come to accept it as an annoying but inevitable trademark of the franchise.Maybe she could have worn, you know, clothes. Different clothes for different occasions. Like, you know, people do.
I said nothing about sexualization. I don't think it's a big deal when characters are sexualized, provided that it makes sense for said characters. Some people in real life are more in touch with their sex-appeal than others, after all. My point was that she didn't have to wear a "sexy uniform". She could have worn clothes, sexy clothes sometimes, not particularly sexy clothes some other times. Then what she would have worn would have served her characterization rather than harmed it.Yeah, that would have been ideal. And it's not just Star Trek. Attractive female characters have always been sexualized. I mean, look at some of the outfits worn by female comic book characters. How Emma Frost has never been arrested on suspicion of prostitution, I'll never know.![]()
That's basically what I was saying. "Sexualization" probably wasn't the right term. Perhaps I should have said "objectification". My bad. It's a staple of sci-fi art for over 75 years. The male heroes are always in bulky uniforms, the females are always in skintight revealing outfits that may not even resemble what the men wear.
I was just saying this goes back long before Star Trek.My bad.
Amen to that. Seeing Seska in a Starfleet uniform always makes me die a little on the inside. Then again, seeing Seska period usually does that.

I would have loved to see a Cardassian as a regular or recurring character on Voyager. It would have made for a lot of interesting conflict. I just never liked Seska, even before her betrayal. She was horrid.I think it would've been more interesting if they outed Seska as a Cardassian, but she didn't betray them(or get caught) to the Kazon. Dealing with a Cardassian in the open would force a little drama.
