I think we'd all go for a spin-off show featuring the crime-fighting lizard and her side-kick in Victorian London. I could see a show in which they really solve all the crimes for which a certain Mr Holmes takes all the credit. :p

Of course, if RTD wrote about an inter-species lesbian couple people would be complaining about "agendas" again...

Fanwank? I've just come in my pants.

Awesome.

I wonder if River in the library was a ganger?:p

Loved it. There was some great dialog - especially the Sontaran's.

I confess I was a little disappointed that the regenerating little girl in TDOTM is almost certainly now not the Doctor (but I suppose it was improbable anyway).

For me, this series is much better than the previous - these last three episodes are excellent.

Excellent episode, simply outstanding and thats despite the whole River being Melody because it was a little telegraphed by the fans. I was hoping River might be the daughter of the Melody especially since we know how she dies :( We know she can regenerate so I wonder which version River is of Melody and I hope her timeline can be changed somehow so she doesn't die back at the library.

We still have loads of questions and I wonder how that eye patch women and the silence fit into the rest of this 2 year arc by moffat? I also don't think the next episode is a part 2 really ? it seems were going to have to wait for the conclusion of this story.

The "why do you put up with me?" tongue joke MADE this episode for me! I can't believe that made it in there (children's show my ass), but it was brilliant!

That would be the Stevie Wonder gag for me. :guffaw:

The Sontaran had some brilliantly funny lines as well. :D

Wanted to like it, but somehow can’t. Not sure why – it had everything I could want from a Doctor Who episode. Guest characters all who deserve to be seen again. Comedy Sontarans. Subtler moments such as the Doctors reaction to being asked if he had children or Rory’s to the Sontarans bitterness of being a nurse, not a warrior. In Madam eye-patch, it has a Villainess who finally feels worthy adversary. Amy is back to her slightly obsessed, psychiatrist biting ways in her refusal to see the Doctor as in any way having any dark qualities. The enemy was outwitted not outfought (a least it seemed like it had been). Cyberfleets. The twist that Melody was Flesh and Amy’s reaction.

I can only really level three complaints against it – It dragged in the middle – Rivers revelation has been theorised for over a year now and came as no surprise - In mentioning the ‘Papal mainframe herself’ tied the Omega/church/military to the Catholics – I would have liked the church to remain as an example to what can happen to any church if that power is misused or twisted.

Yet despite that long list of pros and very trivia cons, I still can only get ‘meh’ about it. Probably as it felt like set-up for the next part, not a episode in its own right. Going to be interesting to see how Hitler fits into all this.

just awesome, still plenty of unanswered questions, I really need to watching Silence in the Library again, but just awesome to watch, when Doctor Who can be this good, why were some of the middle of the series episode just so average.

The Silurian mentioned something about the underground, was that a Classic series refrence?

After re-visiting the first episode (astronaut has green gun) and what we just saw today then I feel that River does indeed kill The Doctor but NOT this version of Meldoy, maybe it was a version before the River we know regeneration.

Massive huge enormous fanwankery for the most part, personified when the jizz baby melted in Amy's arms.

What on earth is the point of having a 50-minute episode solely to set up several more mysteries for September? It would have been better if last week's cliffhanger had ended the first part of the series and this episode had begun the second half.

It wasn't all bad though. The acting and direction were excellent.

It this thing could story telling and having Arc's in shows, I hope you never saw LOST because you would hate it. You'll get your answers at episode 13 :p

^ For the most part, Lost had episodic plots to accompany the slathering of mysteries; there was none of that in tonight's DW.

I'll be in my bunk...

Maybe River can regenerate without changing forms, like Jenny?

Moffat is leagues ahead of RTD in awesomeness. I love this episode.

As much as the aforementioned wankery got a little tiresome, I rather liked how they invented some characters we've never seen before but nonetheless have had some unseen adventure with the Doctor.

Hell, I think the Victorian-lesbian-samurai-dinosaur-detective-woman could have a series all to herself. At the very least she'd make an interesting companion after the Ponds depart (whenever that may be.) I mean the whole star struck human girl (with their doormat boyfriends) thing is getting a little old, it'd be nice for a companion to be able to stand up to the Doctor for a change. That is, if the actress could tolerate the make-up for extended periods.
