Have we had anyone from Trek on Who yet?

Morgan Sheppard has been in Trek a bunch of times. First in The Next Generation as Ira Graves, then again in Star Trek VI as the Klingon commandant of Rura Penthe. He was also in Voyager as an Ahab-esque shuttle pilot intent on killing a protoplasmic life form, and I understand he was in the 2009 movie as one of the Vulcans, but I don't remember him in it.

Was he the old Delaware (Or was it Delaway, couldn't tell)? He did seem familier but I just couldn't think where. Thanks.

I don't think this has been reported but some really good news for all the nay sayers...

Matt Smith has been nominated for the British Academy Television Award (BAFTA) for Best Actor for his performance as the Eleventh Doctor in the 2010 series of Doctor Who - the first time in the programme's history that one of its leads has been nominated for this prestigious award

He is up against Benedict Cumberbatch (for BBC One's Sherlock, created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss), former Comic Relief Doctor Jim Broadbent (for Channel 4's Any Human Heart) and Daniel Rigby (for BBC Two biopic Eric and Ernie).
Doctor Who: The Impossible Astronaut, scored an Appreciation Index figure of 88, one of the highest figures of the weekend.
Wow, congratulations to Matt Smith! However, he has some stiff competition and I'm hard pressed to choose between Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch.

^same here. Sherlock also got the nomination for best support actor and best drama.

Watched confidential, Moffat mention his love for the West Wing made me happy. :)

I'm surprised the BBC America viewing is only 1.3M though, that's about what SYFY gets on just an OK night for SGU or something. Its not overly great. Thought it would be higher.

Not as many people are able to watch BBC America as there are for SyFy Channel. We have basic cable here in our apartment, including SyFy Channel, but we'd have to upgrade if we wanted BBC America.

I'm a few days late to the party but I just want to say: *bam* I called it, Nixon wasn't portrayed as a villain, but rather as the victim. At least for this episode :)

I wish they counted On Demand clicks in the ratings. Kind of like how a website counts the hits they get on a page, but it's hits to a show from the On Demand Service. The reason I bring that up is because I think the lack of HD will have people going to the On Demand route because that is offered in HD. I recorded the show on Saturday, but when I found out that the same episode was available and in HD, even though I don't get BBCAHD, I just watched it On Demand instead. That might be a cause for a low rating.

^^ I *just* got BBCA HD as a channel, so maybe the OnDemand was a prelude. Mine popped up in the high 380's so you might want to look around.

It's all relative I guess, BBC America is in 68 million homes, Syfy is in 99 million. So proportionately, that would be like 1.9M on Syfy.

Yep! he was the older Mr. Delaware. That was a brilliant bit of casting, suggested by his son according to Doctor Who: Confidential.

And thanks for the refresher on his role in Trek 2009, folks. Unfortunately, I still don't remember the part as it's been a couple years since I've seen the movie and still don't own the disc. It's odd, Morgan Sheppard usually pops out for me. "Hey! It's that guy!"

I enjoyed the episode a lot, and I'm looking forward to the next. However, I do think that the Grand Moff is in danger of repeating his favourite themes in future seasons unless he can pull something new out of the bag. We've now had two versions of existential-threatening aliens (three, if you include the Vashta Nerada), two children with hidden faces in danger, and two time-traveller's "wife" type plots (I'm counting "The Girl in the Fireplace" as the precursor of the River Song arc).

Yeah, same. Oddly enough, I get it on demand, though.

Ah, you must have mine. Several Weeks ago (The week the next to last Primeval episode aired), I was out of town, and didn't bother having Primeval taped, because I knew it was being put up On Demand. however, that week, BBCA disappeared from my On Demand availability???
