When did Matt say that? Unless he's referring to that mysterious shadow that was mentioned in the thread earlier. I guess I'll have to rewatch "The Eleventh Hour" before Saturday again.

I thought it was Moffat who said that? I remember it being quoted much earlier in the season.

Worth noting we saw every single past Doctor in the 11th Hour, plus snippets of quite a few monsters...

Just watched The Pandorica Opens, and having barely read what's been in this thread so far, (And probably not going to) All I have to say is Wow. It's going to be at least a week before I can see the finale, but man that was awesome. Things were coming together like gangbusters this week, but I have to ask. Everyone is saying the Valeyard? Who or what are they? Is this a Classic Who thing I have no idea about. I do like the theory of the Dreamlord returning though, this really bringing this season together, and it goes with the whole thing of not believing in consequences. It seems like every episode has lead up to this point, and the Dreamlord returning might just be appropriate. It was nice seeing past races again, like the Rhino people (Jadoon, but I forgot until I saw this thread), the Sontarans, and the Nestine in the form of the Romans. Nice call back to the very first episode.

??? there weren't any Autons in An Unearthly Child? ;)

The Valyard is an evil future incarnation of the Doctor (sort of) a being somewhere between the Doctor's 12th and 13th incarnations who tried to steal the Doctor's remaining regenerations in Trial of a Timelord.

He apparently had no interest in the Doctor's wardrobe however...

Also remember that Smith said the big bad was seen in "The 11th Hour" but not in its obvious form..hmm Dreamlord/Valeyard?

When did he say this?

If that were true, it would either be Rory, Prisoner Zero or Amy's aunty.

All three would suck.

OMG it's Patrick Moore!!

Amy's aunt wasn't in the Eleventh hour. If Smith is right, the big bad could Mrs. Angelo, Jeff, or maybe the Atraxi (hmmmm)

"Not in its obvious form" - could be Leadworth, Amy's house, the shed, either version of the TARDIS, the duck pond...

If that were true, it would either be Rory, Prisoner Zero or Amy's aunty.
Or it could be the Doctor.

If the Big Bad is the Doctor, it fits. He was in The Eleventh Hour, but not in his obvious form, since he was the protagonist of that story. Amy's Choice showed us a version of the Doctor that could work as a scheming villain.

Does no one remember this?:

When Ameila goes outside to wait for the Doctor's return, our POV is in the house, and someone flits through the house, though we can't really see who. I thought it was the Doctor or River, but maybe not.

I thought the running silhouette was Prisoner Zero at first, but then I thought it was the Doctor. Now ... I can't wait until Saturday.

Well, after watching The Eleventh Hour again last night, i cant think of any subtle but obvious hints as to who the big bad will end up being.

One of m friends on sunday had a theory though that Amy was somehow controlling everything without realising it, and the Doctor is none the wiser either, so it could be a future/alternate version of Amy that is trying to get the doctor to this location to, this is gonna sound crappy in the vain of Sam Beckett, to put things right that once went wrong. But then, who knows.

Also, im hoping dear to whatever created us and looks over us (Martians;)) that Moff will not press the fatefull 'red button of reset' i know hes not the type of writer to take the easy way out, but ya never know. Fingers crossed. :)

I also doubt as a few have said on other boards, that a previous Doctor will turn up in the fianle, too eaerly in Moffs writing agender and way too early for Smith to be out gunned (even though thats hard, right:)) by a previous Doctor.

Obviously we have all seen the same production art floating around, but this guy has some interesting theories.

Its quite a good read.

And, as i said before, does anybody know how to prevent that damn blackberry message?

It would also explain why the alliance members were insisting that the Doctor is the one who is going to destroy the universe.

Your first episode and my first episode are completely different. ;)

Depends on whether or not you define the current Doctor Who as being the same program that premiered in 1963, or if you define it as a separate program with the same name. Certainly the fact that "Rose" is considered episode one of Series One points in favor of the latter rather than the former. ;)

I don't know. Somehow it feels a little too soon for Moffat to be hitting on that theme again, only a few episodes after Amy's Choice.

And didn't Moffat or someone in Confidential suggest that the Alliance is "being played" by someone else? They assume the cracks are caused by the Doctor and his TARDIS, but it's actually caused by something else entirely...

This is pure speculation therefore no spoilercode (dont know how to work that anyway):

Who said it was the DOCTOR'S Tardis that's going to explode anyway?
A Tardis, sure, but the Doctor's?

I know we saw the console spitting out sparks like mad, but we also saw the Doctor regenerate at the end of the last series.

Everything was foreshadowed this year, so what was the point of the Proto-Tardis in The Lodger?

Are we sure, it's not THAT Tardis causing the apocalypse? It wasn't stable to begin with.

It was disguised as an upper floor in a house.
We also saw another house with some extra rooms hidden by perception filters:
Amy's. The Doctor even commented on that again this episode.

Who put the perception filters there? Prisoner Zero? It was implied, but I doubt that now.

What if Amy's house, or at least part of it, is also a Tardis? Maybe the same Tardis we saw in The Lodger?
It was also the first place we saw the crack.

It all fits together and just leaves the question, who is the pilot and why is he/she destroying the universe?

Amy house does look to big, the inside seems to have 3 floors, which does not match the two floor downstairs, however ive not checked that theory, its best on impression.

Even then, hers would not be the first house to build a stair case into the loft, giving the insider appearnce of 3 floors.

As for the TARDIS explosion, well if it is someone elses TARDIS, they have made it look like the Doctors TARDIS, possibly to get him out the way.

Of course, at the end of the episode, we see it blowing up with river inside, the screen goes to white, indicating it is blowing up, and the Stars start blowing up too right after that. So it is the Doctors TARDIS.

Well as we've seen from Lost over the years, I don't think we should assume too much from the screen going white.

That could mean freakin anything. lol

And the Doctor clearly regenerated in The Stolen Earth.;)
