So this show just came on. The host is some guy named Richard Quest. He opened his mouth and I couldn't believe someone with such a grating voice was on TV. Just Googled him, apparently he's a journalist. Someone pays this guy to talk. Weird.

He was especially irritating last year on cnn while covering the missing Malaysia Airlines jet.

But, he's full of surprises, like this from the Wayback Machine circa 2008.

CNN personality Richard Quest was busted in Central Park early yesterday with some drugs in his pocket, a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals, and a sex toy in his boot, law-enforcement sources said.[...]

Quest was initially busted for loitering, the source said. Aside from the oddly configured rope, the search also turned up a sex toy inside of his boot, and a small bag of methamphetamine in his left jacket pocket.
It wasn't immediately clear what the rope was for.

Whenever he shows up on CNN, I switch over to Fox News. It's much less annoying than his voice.

 When he gets hammered and starts slurring and talking nonsense in that annoying voice on-air during CNN's New Year's Eve special, you knew there was some wildness to him, but damn.

I'm a sucker for trivia games like this where the audience can play along at home, but yeah, Quest's grating voice and personality is going to be a challenge to overcome. I hate when he's on CNN doing regular reports. It makes it seem more tabloidy than regular CNN already is.

I have been watching 500 Questions and I really don't mind the show, it is entertaining enough, but the host's voice was definitely a hurdle to overcome. About 5 minutes into each episode I start to forget about it, until the next night of course.

I watched the first two episodes. There's just too much going on for it to be consistently entertaining. And there's entirely too much chit chat between questions.
