50 Days of Voyager

I never felt that Barclay was incompetent either. He knows his science and engineering. But his social anxiety and awkwardness makes it hard on him to interact with his co-workers and superiors.

I always liked Pathfinder because we saw a bit of resolution to the problems with Tom and his father. He got to hear the words his father said although he didn't respond.

It looks like you're missing a lot. Most of season 2 not that it's a biggie but you may want to see the traitor get his come up-ins.
Season 3 is fluff and entertainment. I think you've selected the best ones.

Lynx, our resident #1 one fan of Kes, will vomit but I'd say you need "the Gift" which comes after Scorpion.
Season 4 Hunters -which introduces a species in an arc and includes (uh..oh wait that'd be a spoiler)

5th season you'll need Night. They make a leap in their journey and Janeway grapples with her regret to strand them. Plus you don't want to miss the species who looks like a stool. (I say Almond Joy but I'm outnumbered by the Voy cast)

It's Unimatrix Zero, btw.

Where is Workforce? (all 2 parters rock)
You need to add Homestead to your list. A character leaves the ship and is assigned a roll that will resume when Voy gets home.
This turned out to be some of the best advice I got on episodes missing from my list. Thanks!

Day 44 – Blink of an Eye

Okay now this is what Star Trek is all about! They have a very cool concept and great execution of this episode. It has ideas that challenge your perception of time and dives into different themes of civilization and history. I LOVED this episode and am glad I got to see a Voyager episode that really made me think. Also it was nice to see an episode that utiliozed the whole cast rather than a character specific episode. This is in my top 3 of the Voyager episodes I have seen so far. This is classic Star Trek at its best!

Next up is 6x24 Life Line.

Yeah, that is a very good one. Cool concept.

Two complaints:

1) Poor acting by many of the guest stars.

2) The fact that the Doctor had a wife and (step?) son was completely glossed over after a couple of lines of dialog. Shouldn't this have been a bigger deal? Why even introduce it?

p.s you missed a good one with "One Small Step." When you finish with your original 50, you might want to go back and check that one out.

I think it was a nice touch showing how long he really was down there. But it does raise other issues that I understand why they didn't addres, but would have been interesting to see.

My son and I just watched this last night. It wasn't fun explaining the time displacement to a six year old who thinks he wants the simple explanation but isn't satisfied by it. so we just watched Voyager get "unstuck" over...and over...because he thinks it's cool. :P

And for the record, this episode is my favorite.

Day 45 – Life Line

Groan. I tolerated the first Barclay episode but this second one really just bored me. Obviously the writer of the episode had some daddy issues he was working out. I really think forcing Barclay into Voyager is a waste of time and I hope this is the last time I see him.

Wrapping up season six tomorrow with 6x26 Unimatrix Zero Part 1.

As far as I know, the writer of the episode was Robert Picardo ...

Day 46 – Unimatrix Zero Part 1

Well I guess ratings were down because the Borg are back! It is an interesting concept about this sort of dream state where Borg drones exist. Also the idea of infecting the Borg with a virus is an interesting and obvious way to attack the Borg since they have a shared collective. Now, if it was me, I might use a virus that kills that Borg or does serious damage rather than a virus that helps drones have nice dreams. The episode is pretty solid throughout until we get to the Cliff Hanger. Ok, Muldew, Tuvok, and Torres as drones-that is just ridiculousness and sheer pandering because this is an end of season episode. Plus TNG did the same thing with Picard so this trick is nothing new or original or compelling. Will the Voyager crew members become Borg or will they make is safely back to Voyager and return to human form? The suspense is killing me. Not.

Final season beginning tomorrow with 7x01 Unimatrix Zero Part 2.

I'm probably the minority who didn't like UMzero.

You aren't alone. I didn't really care for finding out that 7 had been living another life inside a dream world. I didn't like the characterization of the Borg Queen. Didn't think the plan to get intentionally infected was very believable. Didn't liek how quickly everyone recovered. Didn't like how the separated Borg were never heard from again. Didn't like...a lot of stuff. ;) haha

No, you're not alone. There are a lot of us out here who don't like it. There isn't a lot about it that makes sense to me.

Exactly!

Did they ever explain why there is a Borg Queen and why she has so much personality like this was all her idea? (the existence of borg) Obviously she's not the creator she said she was assimilated as well. I just would like some more back story on this broad.
