"5 Reasons Kathleen Kennedy Needs To Step Down From Lucasfilm" By John Campea

Yes. Because I'm the only person on the entire internet that thinks that by the end of the last jedi she had completely evolved into Little Miss Perfect. I see no reason to make it personal.
We must have seen different movies, because that wasn’t the message I got. I saw her as unsure if she could handle the weight of being what’s left of the Resistence and having to rebuild the Jedi. That’s why there was the scene of Leia comforting her because even if she didn’t believe in herself, Leia did and the others did.

It's almost like you didn't watch the films, just read a transcript.

Daisy plays her riddled with self doubt, those things are played as manifestations of that self doubt, of her having no sense of place or identity
Maybe she should whine about how something is unfair or how she hates sand. You know, manly shit like that.

Bringing back Darthie Maul with zero explanation in-movie as to how he survived means a future movie will explain it or the movie is sloppily written, suggesting the writer needed to take it more seriously. But people with nothing to do make things for people to watch and then blame them for doing nothing?
I wasn't bothered by Darth Maul since I've seen his story arc in TCW and Rebels (I haven't read Son of Dathomir yet, but it is on my Comixology wishlist), but it was a bit strange the way they just kind of tossed him in there with no explanation. I can't imagine how confusing that had to be for people who don't follow the shows.

I'm sure that would lead to a few complaints too, remember how Michael Burham was torn apart for being reckless, incompetent and insubordinate, but was still a Mary Sue?

At some point it would be really good if we all agreed on a meaning for that term.

Apparently it just means woman lead.

Amazingly, we have Kirk, Luke, James Bond, umpteen hundred Tom Cruise, Vin Deisel, Arnie, Stallone, Matt Damon and god knows who else characters who'd fit the bill except for their genitalia and no one complains

Vader was holding back. He got Luke's hand next round. Come on Rey was ridiculously good at everything, it was almost a joke.

It’s a woman in any position of power or in any way competent, no matter what, over any man. The male ego of man children is quite fragile and seeing a woman being powerful is just too much for it. None of these characters are doing anything that male characters have been doing forever or female characters in the 70s and 80s. So it’s probably a generational thing.

Okay, I'll make you a deal. I will totally respect that, because it sounds like a satisfying and plausible enough way to wrap up the film; and it's definitely one that resonates with a number of legitimate fans.

But you have to respect that many other fans feel that she masters the Force in a few days, belittles a Jedi, steals his books, kills experienced Praetorian Guards four at a time, escapes from an exploding Star Destroyer back to the Falcon.... somehow, handles the turret like a pro and kinda gives Leia nothing left to do for the rest of the movie by knowing exactly where to start lifting giant boulders by the dozens to save the Resistance.

Maybe we can all just agree that nobody knows what the hell she's going to do next.

* I would also just like to add that after The Force Awakens, I was along for the ride too.
This is all because of the last jedi. it will always be because of the last jedi.

Excluding her trepidation after the vision in TFA, I could see why it seemed like Ray was a bit too ahead and Mary Sueish. I do like the explanation given above about how maybe the Force is channeling through her to counteract the darkness of Snoke and Ren.

That said, one of my favorite things of TLJ is how to me, it made her self doubts more clear and showed her struggling to reconcile the power within her and her place in it all. Rey was by far my favorite character on TLJ

Ripley ring any bells?

Except that she almost died a few times in TLJ and she only survived because Kylo killed his master and they teamed up in the single best scene in the franchise. But let’s ignore that and call your post a valid point.

Whereas Luke with less training kills Vader, takes out a Death Star using the Force to guide a torpedo, fights hundreds of storm troopers, becomes a major figure in the Rebel Alliance, defeats Bobba Fett and most of Jabba's gang....

Pretty hard to "respect" a viewpoint so obviously biased, especially one where the only identifiable cause for that bias is gender.

Rey is a great Star Wars character. I love that my two young sons have a positive, strong female hero to look up to and respect in this universe now. They don't view Rey any different than Luke, Han or Obi-Wan. That's how it should be.

EDIT: Along with Leia, of course!
