5 oceans - which have you seen?

Atlantic from both sides, Pacific from both sides and the Indian Ocean. Never heard of the Southern Ocean before reading this thread (is it a relatively new-fangled concept?), and from memory I don't think I've been far north enough to see the Arctic Ocean.

When I mean "see" above, I really mean from ground level, as it not just seeing but being present at the shoreline and touching the water. I'm sure I've seen the Arctic Ocean from transatlantic flights before.

Chalk me up for all 5 of them, please. :)

(Snagging both the Arctic and the Southern Oceans is helped by being assigned to an icebreaker. ;))

Cheers,
-CM-

Just the Atlantic. I want to say I saw it from the European side when looking out the window, but I don't actually remember doing that, so probably just from the American side.

I remember it being called the Antarctic Ocean when I was at school

Well, OK, that I remember, and no I've never been there. Not exactly a tourist destination.

Come to think of it, and this surprises me a little, I don't think I've ever been south of the Equator. In January I'll be in Mauritius so will break that duck, but reallly there's just not much land I want to visit down below the Equator! :D

I've seen the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Arctic Oceans. Hope to see the rest some day.

I've traveled a small part of the Pacific when I took a cruise. And I see it (at least the beginnings of it) when I cruise the Gold Gate bridge in my wheelchair, and take the bay cruise every summer.

Atlantic, when I was in Cornwall. As for seas, North sea and the Baltic sea, the latter I crossed per Oresund bridge between Denmark and Sweden and the Belt bridge between Funen and Zealand, although I think the latter might still be the Kattegat.

This pretty much sums it up for me as well. We took a direct flight from India that flew over the Arctic so I know I've passed over that as well.

Hmm, I suddenly want to go to Goa ...

Pacific, Atlantic (if it's not in my windshield it's in my rear view mirror every day), and Arctic.

The Atlantic many, many times (living on the US East Coast and al). The Pacific from the US West Coast..maybe three times.

I have also seen the Gulf of Mexico and the Chespaeake Bay.
