I regret reading these now, it's too much info for me personally.

That said; they all make me want to see the movie more. Much more.

Edit: I've added descriptions from the other sources.

She orders a round, including a fire tea, Budweiser classics and some Cardassian sunrises.

That's as far as I read. Uhura is ordering Cardassian drinks? Referance to Cardassians in the 23rd century?

COCKFUCKERY!!!!

Whoa... cardassians? Well guys... that name for an alien species was not very original in the first place... i mean it was derived from italian "Cardaccia" or something like that.

This sounds pretty awesome. Though it seems Kirk is entering the Acadamy after Sulu, Uhura, etc. Now that's going to make some heads spin.

The problem here is what?

My problem with that scene isn't the drinks, but rather the line she says about Kirk which is pretty ridiculous. But I guess I can't even really judge it since I don't know what the conversation is that leads up to it. Oh and it should be Miller lite's not Budweisers.

Well, that plays a little fast-and-loose with canon... but not so much so that I can't handle it.

Kinda kicking myself for reading that, but on the other hand, it all sounds fucking awesome!

Overall, sounds very good. I'm actually surprised that JJ revealed this much of the film, this far in advance. Based on these clips, the backstory is going to quite different than what fans have assumed. I'm sure that it is going to be told well, but I just know that there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth among the canon-ites.

Poor, Poor Redshirt Olsen. Heh!

I'm not surprised that he had the screening. A bunch of people in the industry have already seen the film. I'm just surprised that Empire was allowed to print this stuff already!

In some ways, I am disappointed at how slipshod the canon/continuity with the original series is, but at the same time, this sounds really awesome judged by it's own merits.

Either way, I'm still in for the cost of a ticket when it comes out.

FINALLY, info on Pike. I can't wait to see Greenwood in that role. The action sequences seem interesting, and I am wondering now weather or not that sequence that on AICN about the Vulcan Convoy and the Enterprise is now real, even though it was "debunked" by Paramount.

All in all, GOOD SHIT!:techman:

Yeah I probably shouldn't have read it either. But I like it... some parts I like a lot.
But it seems like they are making this a tad dirtier than previous Trek, hence Uhura's line to Kirk.

Like several of you, I wish I don't know as much as I now do. However, those clips sound great, and it sounds like Abrams has a pretty decent grasp on what's going on in Trek. Should be a good movie. :)

Oh, you're absolutely right. After all, it's not as if the Federation had no contact with the Cardassians in the 23rd century.

Oh wait, they didn't. And that is the problem.
