3D interiors in Blender

Nice work! It's cool how fairly small changes to lighting and the computer graphics makes the same basic set feel so different.

I just stumpled upon a post with some exterior images of the Excelsior filming model with some images I have never seen before, some of which show that lower unknown area bay, with two SD-103 type shuttles docked.

I also do think it is worth noting that there are also images of the area directly below the rear shuttlebay including the rectangular what I always thought were large cargo doors.

Also nice work on that bridge!

Before seeing these, I would never have noticed that there's a TIE Fighter hatch on each of Excelsior's nacelles.

@The Librarian: Indeed! In the best traditions of Trek sets. :p

@batboy853: Yes, I imagine those were added among the other TUC modifications. However as you can see on the previously posted renders I did comparing the space to the Type-7, they end up being extremely small for being the Excecutive Shuttle, they should be at least 3 times the size they are now. Perhaps they are some sort of precursor to the Captain's Yachts we saw in the 24th Century ships? Docked outside the ship as on the Galaxy and Sovereign.

@Jesse1066: Those ILM master modelers do like them easter eggs! ;)

Another commission done for @Rusty0918, this one's the bridge of the USS Constellation, NCC-71956. A Galaxy-Class commissioned not long after Wolf 359, the bridge has a somewhat more utilitarian feel to it, with the Captain positioned closer to the conn/ops consoles, and a new console behind their chair, for the XO to use.

Also, the red alert status for this one was interesting to do. The lighting is based on the 'Yesterday's Enterprise' Ent-D bridge.

I love the way she looks under the Red Alert lighting. Very nicely done. I am kind of curious what the XO's station does that isn't already covered by one of the other bridge stations (other than give them an excuse to do something besides sit next to the captain and bounce in their chair ;) ).

@cardinal biggles: I assume the XO station takes charge of communications, like Riker's station on the Enterprise-E did. That, plus general ship status, etc.

@TOMFAN: Yeah, having a light there would actually be a good idea hahaha.

@Fred617: It's one of those things that's super inconsistent in Trek. I like to give each station in my bridges a chair, but when doing commissions sometimes the crews aren't as lucky. ;)

@Ryan Thomas Riddle: Indeed, I've seen those, thanks! :)

Went back to the Potemkin shuttlebay as it was 99% done, and I don't want to leave it like that. I added sconces above the doors in Shuttlebay Control, as well as access panels in the empty walls next to said doors. For the pool table, I did a simple shuttle diagnostic graphic in the end, as I didn't quite like how the shuttlebay layout fit in the table.

Finally, I also did some new wall keypads for the shuttlebay deck, to add a bit of visual variety to the otherwise fairly empty back wall. I'm ready to call it done now. :)

Also, I've been modifying the textures on Chris Kuhn's Excelsior model to have the Potemkin registry on the nacelles, so that I can render them outside the shuttlebay and they fit in properly.

@Rekkert I am completely in awe of your work. I stumbled across this thread a couple of days ago and have obsessively ogled over all 84 pages. Absolutely phenomenal!

Remember the NX-01 what Doug said about the Shuttle pods, they had 2 that were on stand by in the bays, and 2 more mothballed in the cargo area that could be made ready in a 24 hour shift or something like that..

So maybe with the Excellsior class, you would have 2 main shuttles that were hot/ready plus the shuttle pods you have in there. and if something happened or they need them, they'd have 2 more in the cargo area. Maybe the lower bay is just a cargo area? ( i know that part is.. just a hole mostly. .)
Looking great!
Maybe 1 screen have a list of shuttles.. like a shuttle or pod icon, and the name of the shuttle and a status, like ready, out, in maintence?
