3D interiors in Blender

OH! is the Sutherland bridge you are referencing mine?! :D If it is, I should probably re make it, I think it's 8 years old haha

@CaptainSerek: Cool list! I can think of a few more, the Lakota and the future Defiant from 'The Visitor' :)

@cardinal biggles: For the Galaxy, the battle bridge will be based off of the Farpoint version, however eventually I hope to be able to reproduce the three versions of the Ent-D battle bridge.

@Savage Dragon: Hahaha, thanks! :lol:

Well I had to start from scratch (again), but I wanted to make sure this was as accurate as I could make it, and blueprints for the TMP/Phase 2 bridge aren't exactly easy to find, much less so accurate ones for the battle bridge... a million thanks to @Redgeneral for the few that are available.

By the way, good thing I couldn't finish the Enterprise-C bridge last year, it would've ended up having an inaccurate viewscreen...

That still looks off.... At least with the forward section. Remember this bridge was the TMP / TWOK bridge that they removed the forward section. They did this work immediately after The Voyage Home

You mentioned the blueprints on RedGeneral's flickr

Most of the prints from RedGeneral are from my collection. Including the ones attached to the post. Also the German Enterprise-E project.

@batboy853: Indeed, that first image you posted was pretty much the main thing I used. The one from the Enterprise-C, not so much, as the set was already wildly modified and enlarged by that point.

@JoeRalat: I guess you wouldn't be willing to provide an high quality version of that battle bridge blueprint, wouldn't you? ;)

Been tweaking the main shape a bit more from what little behind the scenes photos are of the battle bridge/Stargazer. The steps area is very blocky right now, of course more details there will be added later.

@batboy853: Yup, that's true, the entire front was was pretty much the only piece left standing from the original battle bridge all the way to TNG season 7 and beyond.

I've started work on the door alcoves, and re-did the lights at the bridge's edge.

I've added most of the remaining lights to the aft section of the bridge, as well as the beginnings of the railings and the side cutouts underneath them.

Now that the overall shape is as accurate as it gets, I'm surprised by how claustrophobic this bridge feels. It's clear now why they expanded it so much in future appearances, it probably wasn't very comfortable to film it.

If they were going for contrast from the main bridge to this bridge, they absolutely nailed it.

@ashefivekay: Haha, that's a good point!

@CaptainSerek: Thanks! :)

I've finished the railings, and I've added the remaining consoles and all the chairs. I've also worked on the ceiling, which despite being obviously very close to the TMP bridge ceiling, has only a couple of the "ribs" that the original bridge had. One looking directly at the front, and another two at the sides, connecting the centerpiece to the side wall. This isn't very clearly seen other than on a couple of shots from 'The Battle' and 'Arsenal of Freedom', but I'm fairly certain they were that way.

A lot of small bits were added and modified these past few days, including the railing height and the small spotlights on top of the aft doors. I also darkened all the consoles to be the same black color the railing and support struts were (the same color the standing consoles had on Arsenal of Freedom). I've widen the platform the Ops/Conn consoles sit on, like Rusty requested, and added in the aft monitors on the walls.

So I was at my buddy's house last week and he loaded up the most recent VR release of Stage-9. It was a blast roaming the halls of the Enterprise. One question though. What's with all the santa hats?

@Savage Dragon: I'm glad you had a blast with it! :D

Regarding the hats... yeah... that was intended to be a thing for the holidays but it ended up staying longer... We planned on releasing a new VR version last month, but given the announcement of a certain official Trek game bringing the TNG era to VR, we thought it would be best to hold off releases of Stage 9 for a while, otherwise we might bring in unwanted attention to our little fan project. For now, you can always disable the crew in order to not see the hats.

I redid the whole front of the bridge (for the third time), and started laying out the details in that area. I've created the LCARS for the aft stations and the consoles at the sides of the viewscreen already, in order to illuminate the bridge a tiny bit more while I work. (It's hard to hammer those nails when you can't see

Looking great so far! But is it me or is this an unusually dark bridge?

To get a better look I pulled it over into Photoshop and adjusted the lighting … :)

VbHY1zp.jpg

@Michael: Thanks! Yeah, it's really dark, and the almost black consoles add to that. That's the style Rusty wants for this one. Luckly it's just become brighter, and will continue to do so as I add more lights and LCARS. :)

@Matthew Raymond: No, I'm sorry to say it's just a regular old gray wall. :p

I've added in a lot more light to the front area. I've basically repeated the pattern we see at the back, though of course it's smaller given the diameter of the frontal area. I've also added a little inset at the top of the ceiling, and illuminated that, which casts a bit more light over the entire bridge.
