360 price cuts on all hardware in September?? Hmmm...

At least in Europe you don't have to deal with outsourced support.

I still wish I learnt French so that I could just deal with French-Canadians instead of someone in the Philippines.
Although, maybe the latter is better than the former? ;)

Who says we don't? When I called it was an Indian woman.

You know what, i could have sworn when i clicked on PKERR's link about 30 Min's ago that it did say a price of $299.00......possibly could have been a misprint at the time.......I know it was that page because i was looking at the free games and i already have Forza II and how that $299.00 worked out about £150 if that was on sale here.

You're not crazy, it did say that at one time.

Really?

Maybe that's the curse of being English speaking. I'm sure if you lived in France, you'd get some French dude living in France. Unless there are a lot of French speaking Indians in the world somewhere.

Yep, whenever I've called Xbox, or Microsoft support in general, I've gotten through to Indian women, who seem quite patronising. My Brother got a Indian blokes when his xbox went tits up, who were either being deliberately obtuse, or didn't know what the fuck they were doing.
I decided, where possible, to just use the online service.

I suppose there are plenty of developing countries that speak French that they can outsource to though, and I'd guess the same with Spanish.

I just know that in Canada, speaking French automatically gets you someone in Canada. Yay language laws. :p

They better drop the damn HDD price or I'm going to be stuck with 2 360s. Maybe that's how they'll get people to upgrade to Elites. :p

As sad as it is to say this, if the Jasper chipsets are in the wild, I'd go for an Elite rather than buy the overpriced hard drive attachment.

Well, that seems to be Microsofts strategy for increasing sales-numbers...

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but it looks like Aussie will get a price drop on the 120 HD as well as other accessories.

I'm sure it will be world wide soon enough.

Looks like the price drop happened today kids.

Woot! Woot!
Time for me to pull the trigger and pick up an Elite.

BTW the 120gb HD is also getting a Price cut though admittedly, M$ could do better.

"Now that the Xbox 360 line-up has been giving a serious price gutting in the US of A, the cuts continue, with the 120GB hard drive seeing a $30 reduction. Previously at $179, it would have been an even harder prospective purchase for anyone picking up a $199 Xbox 360 Arcade. The hard drive add on is now slightly more reasonably* priced at $149 at both EBGames and Amazon. Thanks to Matt for the heads up."

Lastly an $90.00 price drop on the 20gb if you can find one.
$259.99
Price match that with Circuit City and save another 10% on the difference.
