FWIW According to one news site in Germany it's doing worse than the last 4 Trek movies on their starting weekend here. Apparently it had only slightly more than 50 % of Insurrection's number of viewers.

Yes you are, and when the movie fails to make back it's production cost and is rightfully labeled as a flop, you will be proved wrong. Wait for it. Your predictions that it's going to be an enormous success are what's funny. More so than all those predictions that this movie was going to be outstanding, which it more than failed to be.
Well it's no wonder the film's not doing too great in Germany if they throw women out of the cinemas because it's supposed to be a men's night.

Paramount was predicting a $50 million opening weekend. THAT is how THEY defined success. They got more than half again as much, their second most successful opening weekend EVER for a live action film.
This movie is an absolute unqualified success, and anyone in Hollywood who knows shit will tell you so.
But don't take my word for it. Go play around boxofficemojo.com for a while. Find any movie - ANY movie - that had an opening weekend this big, with Sunday and Monday trends so surprisingly high, that DIDN'T make at least $250 million. I dare you.

I just posted several links showing that I'm completely right. The production costs reached 160 million. Fact.
I, at least, am not trying to call you a liar. I'm simply stating that if the total budget is 260 million as you say, then the movie is already half way there after opening weekend. Saying it's a flop is a ridiculous statement at this point, because there is no way to really tell except wait and see.
Now what if it turns out you are wrong. If it does flop, I'll admit that it's flopped. I'll still enjoy the movie, because I happen to feel its a good one, but I'll still admit it didn't perform as well as we'd hoped. Will you have the same courtesy if it does succeed?
