I wonder if we will see something like this at some point:

We did get a rather faithfully reproduced TOS PADD (they actually called it that, too, eventually - a first outside the TNG era), and TOS data cartridges. And TOS uniforms. I'd expect more or less that level of likeness with the folder, too, if it ever comes to that - and there'd certainly be dramatic mileage in physical "TOP SECRET" media of storage, especially now that the show dives deep into the world of spooks.

The ship had 200+ personnel, and at least half a dozen of them visited the surface of the planet. The report simply implies that only two mattered.

Or perhaps only one. Pike commanding would be sort of incidental info; Pike would also be the one to make the recommendation. But Spock's presence (and specifically his being half-Vulcan) would be what made the difference somehow.

This works nicely for "The Cage": Spock is the resident telepath, so his word would carry weight in an argument about a telepathic threat.

It could also work in the DSC context, though, if Spock going to Talos in the next episode is big enough a thing and the actual reason the above recommendation is made.

One would think if that was the case, even setting a course to Talos would set off all sorts of alarms. The Shenzhou argued with Michael about letting her out based upon regulations. I think setting a course to a planet that would lead to the occupant's death would elicit a similar response.

Maybe all the other officers didn't recommend that the planet never be visited again.
