Time travel plots are a Star Trek trope so TCW if we must

I'm actively hoping for it, even though I think they'll keep it discreet if it's related at all.

I wonder where Spock is with the winter gear on?

Perhaps the Alien "Soyuz" looking future-ships are from the planet that Voyager-6 (VGER) ended up getting to?
We did see a depiction of that planet when Spock entered VGER alone.
(at 2:16 in the video. the end of the video is just stupid chit added on)

    That would be really cool.

I wonder what the significance of younger Michael running from something scary in the woods is?

I’m actually good with the updated Talosians. Mainly because you can still recognize them as Talosians.

I'm kind of hoping it turns out the Talosians are the dead end of a once proud civilization that are now mostly screw-ups that spend most of their time getting high and watching reality-tv in their menageries. It might explain their actions, why they seem really smart sometimes and pretty off balance at others. Also, that reverb guitar needs to play any time they pop up on screen. It's not the show's soundtrack, they actually bring their own thematic music with them when they show up.

Talosian costumes are on point. Not thrilled about the big forehead ridge but hey, Star Trek.

    Time war eh?

I have mixed feelings about revisiting the Temporal Cold War.

On one hand, just because ENT fucked it sidways with rebar doesn't mean DIS couldn't fix it. I mean, if "bad ideas must be dropped" was always done, DS9 wouldn't have done anything with the Ferengi.

On the other hand, the whole idea of different factions somehow traveling through time and altering the past yet not erasing themselves from existence in the process is absolutely nonsensical. Probably the worst use of time travel in the entire franchise.

head ridges, warriors, wrinkled noses...I can still easily recognize the updated Klingons too, if that was your point

I still don't think it will be the TCQ

That was my point exactly. And I’d bet that if no one told you they were Klingons, you probably wouldn’t have guessed that right off the bat.

They look more like Klingons to me than the old facepaint dudes with their glittery shirts and goatees, but YMMV.

I definitely would, right from the first reveal I've argued they are just an evolution of the existing Klingon makeup pieces to look more alien. Vertebrae-like forehead ridges, and the distinctive nose appliance. The only completely new element Disco added was the extended cranium piece and they seem to be walking that one back.

I probably would have. again: ridges, warriors...and they spoke Klingon. That gave it kinda away

Ok. I just remember when a pic was leaked before the show premiered showing a bunch of aliens sitting at a table, with the caption stating they were supposedly Klingons, a whole mess of people posted who were simply dumbfounded that these could possibly be Klingons. Of course, one could not hear them talking in a photograph.

so, there were people who thought: "Wow, those martial looking aliens with the pronounced ridges on their forheads.. I wonder if that could be Vulcans?"

It isn’t what I implied at all, and you know it.
