24th Century Scout Ships

Lots of ideas here, though still all on the too large side of things (the Shi'Kahr-Class has a nice look to her, definitely fits in with the time period I have in mind, though might have to do what Masao Okazaki when he designed the U.S.S. Sagittarius and think about how a scaled down version might look).
Are you thinking of ships in the Maquis Raider size?
Something around that size, maybe a little bigger but definitely under 100m. Her size would be an asset, useful for being overlooked on long-range scans.
Only if powered down. If a scan can spot a 600m+ Galaxy at 10 light years, it's not really going to be challenged by a mere sixthing of the size. Less power output would be more of a factor, but you'd probably WANT a scout to have a fairly powerful warp engine for its size...
Huh? There were two different versions of the Centaur?
Yes. There was the scaled-down physical model Adam Buckner built for the Dominion war in DS9, and the Eaglemoss CGI model made for their magazine, which was only loosely based on the physical model but scaled to the actual Excelsior class starship, which was then used in Prodigy.

Yep - here's a close-up pic of the "Buckner" with the Reliant-scaled bridge module:
And here's the Eaglemoss version, with the Excelsior bridge, making it instantly bigger, which is the version that PRO used:
So, my theory/head-canon is, the original USS Centaur (built as the USS Buckner - we never saw the top of the saucer with the name) existed as a member of the smaller Buckner-class frigate. Then, a whole new scaled-up class was later created and named after the Centaur, which I suspect operated with distinction during the Dominion War, and maybe was even lost in action.
I absolutely love the fact that this class got some love during PRO's run. It's my favorite of the DS9 Frankenfleet, despite the mixed-scales with the pieces used to build the original filming miniature. One day I'd like to make one of my own.
Update: EAS did a work-up on it here and someone mapped out the model parts here.

The interesting thing is that the Centaur (either version) was never given a canon/official class name (despite the ship being listed in the newest edition of the Star Trek Encyclopedia, probably because of Okuda going along with Sternbach's idea from the DS9 tech manual that the kitbashed models made for "A Time to Stand" were actual kitbashed ships in-universe, which is utter nonsense.) So we are free to speculate that the ships are two separate classes which happen to share a similar design despite being quite different in scale and surface detail.
(The question I have is why the Centaur was even used at all in Prodigy, since it's completely out of place alongside the Defiant, Akira and Sovereign classes also shown to be Starfleet's main ship types of the time period. Obviously someone on the PRO VFX crew had an affinity for the ship
