Ack! I'm just rewatching season 6 at the moment. Man, that season was truly horrible. Jack plain annoyed me. The only highlights were once again Chloe and Karen, plus I thought Nadia was a nice addition. And as much as I enjoy the character of Buchannon, James Morrison is, IMHO, not that great of an actor. I find his style jarring to say the least. Looking forward to season 7 though. Does anybody know if Karen Hayes is going to make an appearance?

I'm not sold on this movie yet. I'm pretty worried that it will become Jack saves Africa, and after studying western depictions of the continent in film for a semester, I can't say I'm moved to see the usual trope of cliches and stereotypes ported out again.
I'm getting a Tears of the Sun-vibe off the commercials for 24: Redemption. Since I liked Tears of the Sun, I'm cautiously optimistic here. :)

Glad my wife reminded me about this, I got up this morning and nearly forgot that today was Bad-Ass Bauer Sunday! See you guys later on tonight.

There are seven continents: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Antarctica. What did they teach you in grade school?

The only question that matters: Are there rocket cars yet given how far into the future this takes place?

I'm kind of echoing EW's review. Times have changed from two years ago, and even then I was sick of Jack torturing answers out of people. If he still up to those old tricks, I'm out for good. They have to modernize the character and his methods.

Yeah.

They have to make him a Liberal Pansy!

;)

I know it's a joke and it's kinda of funny but I'm glad the days of simplistic on/off labels are dying out. I know the torture, rinse, repeat method got old three seasons ago and that's before the media woke up and got the public talking about how unethical it is to torture.

Maybe instead of torture, Jack could find out what he needs to know through, I don't know, good detective work?

Watch any cop show, and you'll see plenty of methods used to get information without torturing a suspect. Some methods are more believable than others, but very rarely will you see someone tortured on a cop show. Unless you happen to be watching The Shield, and even there it's not that frequent.

Exactly my point. Season 1 Jack used his brain to get information. He rifled through files, followed educated guesses, tricked the villain into giving away their location.

I'd just like the showrunners to put a moratorium on the "torture suspect, get lead, lead gets killed, Jack yells DAMMIT!" routine, forcing them to make Jack more clever.

Fuck it, Bourne changed the action hero map. It influenced Bond, made wire-fu CGI stunts obsolete. I say 24 should try to bring Bourne to TV.

My sister has been planning a party for this. We've been having too much fun with the old school one-liners.

Me: Picking up food tonight?
Sis: DAMN IT, THERE'S NO TIME!

^ Running around with tons of action to hide the flimsy plot?

a) What could possibly have been "flimsy" about the plot of any of the Bourne movies.

b) That's exactly what 24 has been doing since season 4. That old dog needs new tricks.

No, just vintage 1960s Corvettes that adolescent, future starship captains drive off of cliffs in Iowa.

Aragorn, your avatar is turning me on. I want to spank it.

Don't forget to use the patented Bauer Crosstown Magic Transport.
