2) This new backstory for Renee doesn't work. There's no way she'd be all shiny and naive during season seven if all this crap had happened to her. She'd be a grizzled undercover operative.

Renee was never shiny and naive during S7. She was focused, effective, and by the book. She was appalled by the extra-legal methods Jack was known for using, but she also shot a man during her first interrogation.
