I enjoyed it. It's nice to have 24 back. Like the Hastings and Hassan characters.
Can't wait for the return of Red. It's a shame Legs got killed last season but hey, nothing beats Red.

Good couple of episodes, strong begining if a limp mid-premiere break/clifhanger. But looks like a solid begining to the season!
Hee. It's still the same old shit. Person with secret double life being blackmailed, moles/spies/whatever, asshat in charge who is incompetent.
But at least Jack is still fucking awesome.

Just finished the first two hours. This was the least exciting season premiere they've done so far, but as 24, it was still serviceable.
What else? Let's see...
- I got a kick out of "Grandpa Bauer", I really did, I mean our big badass balls of brass action hero is now a grandfather. Who wouldn't get a kick out of that? ...but the novelty wore off within minutes.
- I wasn't sure who the president would be this season. I was hoping for someone new and interesting, I don't care at this point that they're going through presidents like toilet paper, but such was not the case this season. Oh well.
- Nice to see Starbuck again. Katee looked hot and sophisticated, and she's engaged to Freddie Prinze Jr. The geek gets the hot woman. Way to go Freddie. Her double life is the most interesting thing so far by the way.
- It was odd seeing Chloe struggling with the computers. I thought she might be playing up some angle or something.
- Good to see Kim again. I wonder if something will happen to her this season.
That's all I have to say for now. Hopefully some good twists and turns will cause things to pick up. So far, not so good.

It was pretty "slow-paced" but I'd say S1 and S2 are mostly like that too.
The season finale will have Jack covering himself in mud and Starbuck becoming an Angel.
And did Katee's character's life have to be another "Girl from the Sticks"
Kara Thrace also came from a low income chain smoking mom.
Next character she plays should come from a nice suburban family
I wouldn't judge too much from the first couple hours. The first 4 hours of season 6 were pretty crazy packed and it turned out to be one of the bigger yawners and more criticized.
I was thinking Predator UAVs but I like the idea of a bunch of Predator aliens working for CTU.
Luckily it only last minutes.
I kind of like that they put the effort into having the guy hit the rails on the way down.
Oh no, I agree. Though slow, I really liked these two hours, thought it was solid and pretty high-quality. Right now I'd rank this season up-there with Season 2 (my favorite season). Yes, it's early to make such a judgement but it'll likely change as the season soldiers on.
Hmmm... Does that also count as a railing kill?

I know they're "in the future" storywise but the tech they used seemed so "today"

That's just a side-effect of this show. As I said in the other thread, it's sort of "fun" to point out these 2015/19 oddities. But, for all intents and pruposes, the show takes place "today."
I give both hours a Good.

It's only five years IN THE FUTURE! I'm pretty sure that a cave man from 2005 would recognize his technology still in use today.
That would work out perfectly. In Taken, Neeson's best friend was played by Leland Orser, who played Martin Collier (the guy who helped Olivia Taylor kill Hodges) last season.
Speaking of Olivia, looks like she did go to jail. Totally can't blame Henry for divorcing her and then trashing her to the media. He lost a finger and took four bullets to learn the truth about his son and what does he ultimately get for it?
As for President Taylor, I think we're in for another season of hand-wringing and Hamlet-like siliquies from her. At least Hassan and his doings seem interesting.
LOL for Trekker 4747 suggesting that Jack's granddaugther is lucky Jack didn't break her neck when she woke him up.
Never really got into this show before, as in all honesty? I just haven't gotten around to it. I've seen an episode once before (the episode where Jack is in a hotel room, finds out someone he knows is dead and people take over an airport terminal). I watched tonight's episodes because of Katee Sackhoff, and actually found myself engrossed into it. If I remember tomorrow night's episodes I'll certainly watch them and the reset of the season that I can remember, could be a good watch.
Interesting on the dating, I had no idea what the timing was as I don't follow the show enough.

They did have a couple of throwaway lines about Martha Logan last scene and nothing came from that.
