24: Day 8: 2:00AM - 3:00AM: Discussion and Spoilers.

I've give this an Above Average. The Jack/Marcos and mom storyline played out quite well.

Dana being blackmailed by Arkansas Milton...not so much.

I'd give this one an excelent. All the 24 stuff, inc. Jack's interactions with Marco all gets a "very good." Stephen Root's brand of awesome nudges it up.

The whole bomb thing was handled pretty well. We got everything. Jack succeeded in talking the kid down AND we got to see him blow up in the chamber with the added bonus of Jack being thrown across the room by the explosion. Didn't think they'd cover it all.

Nothing like a nice shower at three in the morning.

Well, when you're about to go to seek political asylum at 3 in the morning you want to be fresh.

And another source bites the dust.

Next weeks episode better be top 10 24 Episode material with a trailer like that.

As for this one: Below Average

This episode almost got a poor, but the end of the Bomb sequence actually did nudge it up. The guy who played Marcos was a terrible actor, and I kept thinking about the "Leave Britney Alone" guy from Youtube everytime the kid spoke. We also have more in the Soap Opera that was Dana Walsh's alternate personality and who the fuck is stephen Root. Check that, I don't care. When he called, I rolled my eyes because the storyline was not over when I was hoping it would be.

Like I said, interesting trailer for next week. I'm actually looking forward to it because of the whole 3:15, 3:24, and 3:52 format but it better be awesome and top 10 material.

I skipped most of last week's, but stuck to it this week. It's getting convoluted, but as an isolated hour, it was pretty good. Above average.

Well, at least the mole isn't in CTU.

Still, I find it amusing that they've basically shat on the new characters. Why bother creating them in the first place? They could have brought Bill back to life and had him run CTU and no one would bat an eye.

Above Average

I was genuinely surprised that Taran (sp?) is bad after all, though I started to have suspicions when he didn't let the President's daughter answer her phone.

This season is turning into Rush Hour 3. I REALLY REALLY want to like it because the previous outings were great, but as hard as they try, it's just not grabbing my interest like I want it to.

Even though I managed to sit through season 6, this year has completely lost me. I stopped watching a few weeks ago, but I keep reading these threads...looks like there isn't much to miss. 24 has never been boring until now. :(

I thought the sixth season was much more boring that this one.

This one still isn't very good, though. I can't believe they're not letting the Dana Walsh subplot die. They had a perfect opportunity to put it behind them, but the writers continue one, for at least one more episode! Gah!

Jack's scenes were good and played out nicely. So, there's that.

The runaway daughter plot just turned super boring with the evil boyfriend showers / female victim on phone routine.

Dana/Jenny and Cole have officially dropped this season's rankings for me. Unless their plot ends NEXT EPISODE with both of them killed ignominiously during a commercial break and we only find out through silent split screen with something more much interesting ... say, Renee getting ready for bed, this may become my first 3/4 BORING season of 24.

Christ, every time something interesting looks like it'll start playing out, fucking Starbuck mopes onstage to whine at Freddie "Constipated IS My Acting Range" Prince, Jr.

NO ONE CARES.

EVERYONE HATES THEM.

Writers. Get a fucking clue and end this nightmare.

And instead of getting me excited about next week, that preview has me dreading the deet-doot, deet-doot on Monday.

The heroes are going to be threatened with the filmed execution of the hostage...we already did that, guys. Remember Secretary Heller?

Then the Hunchback of CTU is running and yelling ... I sense a new threat coming ...

... but wait! There's a twist!

This time, it's CTU that's being targeted! That's only happened in what? Every single season of 24 since the second?

I'll laugh my ass off if it's the "parole officer" who Dana buzzes inside that blasts the hell out of CTU, taking out the radiological detectors and allowing the dirty bomb plot to continue.

Yeah, that'll make Starbuck's millstone of a plotline worth it. Bring back Marwan, please. At least that stupidity was part of the main plotline.

One couple that faired well was Hassan and his wife. Now they have some chemistry together. Keep those two together on the screen, not Cole and Dana.

They could have brought Bill back to life and had him run CTU and no one would bat an eye.

Fuck yeah. I'd religiously watch a show with zombified Bill Buchanan in charge of CTU leading Chloe and Jack.

A step in the right direction with the bomb scene, but still far away from 24's best. Next week it look like CTU HQ is under some sort of attack. Does this surprise a single person on the planet who saw that scene in nuCTU's armory earlier this season?

The Dana/Cole storyline bafflies me as the writers seem content on plowing ahead with an awful storyline that has damaged the show this season. Do they really have no other ideas anymore?

Maybe the supernatural element is exactly what 24 needs. Zombie Bill Buchanan and the ghost of David Palmer show up to warn Jack that the Drazen family, Nina Myers, Marwan and Benjamin Juma have escaped from hell and are leading a legion of the dead upon the earth to bring about the end of days. And there's only one person who can stop them... Tony Almeida!

Good lord, this season sucks. I've been wondering why I bother but at least this episode gave me the answer. I've been waiting to see the ultimate in 24 absurdity, with which no cougar or magical nuclear-plant detonating switch could ever hope to compete:

A suicide vest with a red LED countdown. :rommie::rommie::rommie:

They can end the series now. There's just no topping that.
