Excellent for killing a character? Seesh. I hated Connor with a passion (Angels son) but his beatdowns didnt make me rank episodes as excellent.

As gratifying as it is to see Dana taken down, Jack didn't have to do it. He had the evidence and he'd promised her he'd let her go if he got it. Jack doesn't usually break his promises.
I really do think in this final season what we are seeing is the dissolution of Jack Bauer. Renee's death has started him on a downward spiral that started with refusing to accept the President's decision is proceeding now to the series of executions that Dana predicted and of which she is the first.
I don't believe we'll see Jack ride off into the sunset at the end. I think we'll see him dead. 'Cause I don't think he'll allow himself to be taken alive.
We can only hope he gets Logan first.

My opinion? Well...duh, but it doesn't really change the fact the characters death makes it "excellent", but whatever. Overall, the episode was pretty good, but it doesn't seem entirely constant to me. Seems like Jacks going off the deep end at this point, but I suppose that's somewhat the point.
That's what I am sayin' just three episodes or so ago, he was shooting people that dared to defy the president. Now hes crem of the crop of defiance. Whatever, this far in, I'll keep watching, but it doesnt seem all heywire and as good as people seem to make it out to be,
And yes, I agree the character of Dana is a bit whacked (but the comment on Katee Sackhoff is a bit uncalled for I think, but to each their own) the inconstancy with her character is a major bitch (seriously, all those connections and she couldn't get out of one single bind? *sigh*)
