24: Day 8 - 1:00PM - 2:00PM: Discussion and Spoilers

The 24 series finale is up against Chuck's season finale. I dunno, I think I'm opting for Chuck. If I didn't know about the movie and thought there was any chance that Jack might die, I might think twice about it. They really should have kept their mouths shut about the movie since they obviously want us to think Jack might die.

All this talk of Mrs hassan but it was revealed she was in on the whole thing, not sure if you guys caught that earlier in the episode when she was talking to her advisor.
No missed that part, is it on You Tube?

I want a spin-off. 24: The Story of Charles Logan

Sub Titled "I'm really a snivelling pussy, jack Bauer came after me and I pee'd my pants!"

Also I wonder if the Movie will be set before season/Day 1?
( This is how I became the Jack Bauer you know and fear)

I like how Jack just roughed Logan up a little bit, slapped him around and then just put Logan in a sleeper-hold knocking him out for a short time. Following all that we next see Logan practically motionless on a gurney with a breathing mask.

What was the dialogue? I had the impression they were just freaked out that Logan was involved. Didn't she say to her advisor that she would trust Taylor, who must have had a good reason for bringing him into the process?

That's exactly what she said, when the duo got into the elevator, she asked about Logan, and the adviser said that their intelligence agency could look into it if she wanted them to.

Wouldn't you be scared? Especially with that mask

Never have I seen an animated GIF that so accurately portrays someone shitting themselves in fear.

Awesome episode. Jack completely off the deep end is proving to be way more entertaining than Starbuck and her friendly redneck hijinks.

Looking forward to next week's finale although I'm planning to watch Chuck and DVR 24.

Oops, thought she did now becuase whe was talking about logan, my mistake.

Great episode..we watched it last night..ITZIN is a great actor, because I have never seen anyone act like such an idiot, and scared, at the same time. Wasn't this guy on DS9 once...

This show is going to end on a high note, despite what the nay-sayers on this site claim. 24 has been, overall, a great ride and fun to watch! Bravo to the people in front of, and behind, the camera!!!

I don't remember that.

Enjoyed this one a lot, by the way. This show seems to be improving drastically over the start of the season.

I still don't get why the Russians would want Renee dead though. It's not like she knew anything.

I seem to recall that the shooter was someone that thought Rene recognized him, and that she was killed to make sure she hadn't done so, and said something to someone.
THANK YOU! I've been trying to remember why Renee was killed for the last several weeks.

Whereas, Logan wants the public redemption and is willing to trash Taylor's presidency to get it. I'm not quite sure I buy Taylor willing to go this far, it seems her arc is more plot than character driven, however I think Jones is doing a good job with her reluctant slide into ignominy.
I think it says a lot about Cherry Jones' acting that I love President Taylor so much and HATE the way she's been backed into a corner by the writing. She's the first president since Palmer that I've trusted, and I am just so bitter that the writers used Logan to taint her integrity.

That's what I would do. That way I could skip the commercials for 24.

As for the episode, I loved it. Logan was the best part of the show. He's my second favorite president after Palmer and 24's best villain. It's just amazing to watch him work.

Itzin is an amazing performer. I don't think I've ever seen him play a simple good guy. Usually he's a weasel. It's a testimony to his talent that I loathe Logan so completely.

He actually played two different roles on DS9. He was Tandro in the first season episode "Dax" - the son of the war hero who showed up and wanted to charge Jadzia with his father's murder, thinking that Curzon had killed him. He was also one of the mercenaries in "Who Mourns for Morn?" - I can't remember that character's name, but he was the male human.

For the Browncoats in the audience, he also played Magistrate Higgins in "Jaynestown." He's lost a good bit of weight since that role. :techman:

^I have to agree, Itzin has been absolutely superb once again.

He should be looking at an Emmy for this.

I'm finding Pres. Taylor to be utterly compelling. This all started with one lie, one coverup that she justified in the name of the peace process. She was going to withhold this evidence, maybe just long enough to get the agreement signed, and hope that world pressure would keep the parties from backing out once the truth came out. But then she had to sanction coverups of coverups, and each decision that she knew was wrong has taken more out of her. Now she's like the protagonist of The Telltale Heart and her guilt is written all over her face.

I don't think this makes her bad, or even immoral/amoral -- just a desperate politician who made a colossal mistake and cannot find a way to undo it. It has spun completely out of her control, and she knows it.

I like her too. This is all Logan's doing, and I'm glad Jack let him live so he can face the public when all this comes out..IF it comes out.

Itzin was awesome in that episode, definitely pulling for him to grab an Emmy for that. Jack dressed up as Master Chief was AWESOME though, I was so psyched when he pulled that mask out of the bag!

This was a great episode. 24 is going out on a high note, even though the plot is nuttier than it's ever been. The season was pretty awful since about hour 5 or so, but once Hassan died they seemed to realize it was time to get at least semi-serious. Bauer Unhinged is pretty terrifying to watch, but awesomely bad-ass. Itzen as Logan is brilliant, and it's fun watching Taylor fall apart. My only hopes for next week are that it remain as ridiculous, entertaining, and exciting as the last third of S8 has been, and for Tony and Agent Pierce to show up one last time. A resurrection of David Palmer would not go unappreciated, either...;)
