I'm giving this season an Average.

I am sticking to the majority of my rant from last week, because most of it has held up. While the two final episodes were a step up from the rest of the season, it was not enough to make it good in my view.

I really don't like when 24 ends on a cliffhanger. We've had a full season to cover and the final hour should be closure. Granted they want people coming back for next season I guess, but what does that do to the previous 23 episodes. It really does follow my complaint with Storyarc storytelling a lot though. You build this story and takes so much time get going with it, but the problem writers have is they have no idea how to finish it. It happens occasionally in this show, it's happened on Heroes, heck, there were parts of DS9 that felt like another hour could have been used.

Anyway, They could have done so much adjusting to get everything in in the final few hours. I mean since Tony turned bad to join this group, the show felt like it stalled. They could have easily trimmed some of the fat and then left the final hour to deal with the aftermath. How they did it now, however, just really soured by liking for this season. It started out so strong, and while the ending was good, it wasn't good enough to get me back into the good graces.

So overall, I guess my grades (And this will be the first time I do grades since I really never participated in this thread and have absolutely no idea who this Agent Freckles is )

First Hour: Average
Season Hour: Borderline from good to Great. More towards good though because of the Cliffhanger.

Season as a whole: Average.

Great when compared to season 6. Terrible when compared to my favorite season, Season 5. That about averages it out.

Last season I wasn't sure if I would watch season 7. This season however, I am looking forward to season 8 but really not waiting with baited breath. It will come when it comes.

Well, I'm disappointed I didn't get to join you guys in watching the finale. Somehow, I forgot it was on, but fortunately because of the DVD release tomorrow, the episodes were able to be found elsewhere to watch already.

Overall, a great finale. The part about Tony only playing both sides to get at the true baddies responsible was a good way to go, at least giving him some bit of redemption and avoiding total character assassination, although it was entirely predictable and I saw it coming since about the time he went evil the second time this season.

I think the President really got to shine in this episode. I think that she got the absolute best role to play in the finale. I really couldn't tell which way they'd swing her on this. My only regret is that this is treading the same ground as in season 1 between David and Sherry Palmer - whether or not to cover up their offspring's wrongdoings.

The second best role in the finale was the female FBI agent (why after 24 episodes of seeing her can I not now remember her name??). That was a great way to end things, with us not truly knowing whether or not she killed Allan Wilson.

The scene between Jack and the Muslim preacher was sending off all kinds of warning bells of total PC overload, however, I think they took it just far enough to be meaningful that Jack needed to ask for help, but thankfully didn't extend to the point of Jack asking him to pray to Allah for all the wrongdoings he's done and terrorists he's tortured. It was also very unexpected that we didn't see the results of the treatment. However, we know Kieffer has signed up for season 8 so this one isn't too much of a cliffhanger.

Again, a nice ending to the season.

I've only been watching since S5, but this felt like the most complete and less "on the fly, we're making shit up like the dudes on Lost/BSG" season of them all. I thought it was clear that FBI girl (Renee? Whatever. ) is going to "interrogate" the dude at the end. It just felt like it was her choice to cross the line being compared to the President's choice to respect the law.

I'm sure this "smart Kim" was entirely planned by the writers because they knew our expectations for her were so low... nicely done.

As I said last week.

My favorite moment of the finale: finding out that Kim named her daughter Teri.

Second favorite: Jack's "confession" scene in the hospital.

Third Favorite: The entire scene when the President returns and has her daughter arrested. It took a woman president to have real balls!

Looking forward to more 24!!!

For some reason, I was getting a BSG final episode music score vibe with some of the notes they were playing on 24 -- I was half-expecting the brief notes here and turn to turn full-blown orchestral.

I'm surprised Tony didn't bring up Jack's father or brother when mentioning Magical Mystery Tour conspiracy group. At first I was thinking they didn't want to mention anything from season six and hope we'd just forget, but they did bring up Noah Daniels.

Since Alan Wilson's interrogation room was pitch black, I was jokingly expecting Renee to turn on the lights and have Tony standing right behind him, but that's only because of The Dark Knight.

Another average season of 24 that hit all the same familiar notes. I think Jack dying from a virus would've been a good way to close out the series. In a lot of the interviews, it was implied that the only way the show could end was with the death of Jack. And since they won't repeat this again, it'll probably be just some stupid out-of-nowhere sniper doing him in. Or he saves the planet from terrorists but gets killed by a punk trying to rob a gas station.

I kept waiting for one line for Jack that could sum up everything: "I do what I do so you don't have to." But it never came.

So Walt Cummings was working for Christopher Henderson who was working for Charles Logan who was working for Graem Bauer's bluetooth gang who were working for Daddy Bauer who was working for Alan Wilson who is working for... Jack's split personality he knows nothing about?

Maybe in season eight Tony and Olivia can hook up since they both share the same feelings and opinions about people who kill family. Of course, Olivia made it one step further than Tony.

Jack really is superhuman. He's sedated and has spinal fluid extracted from his neck and he can jump off a table, stab a couple bad guys and run away. wow!

He learned from Christopher Henderson.

There is absolutely NOBODY in this cast you want to disappoint less than Agent Pierce!

Agent Pierce is so badass that, even though he died in Transformers, Michael Bay is bringing him back in the sequel.

I can't pin down the specific hour, but Kim did mention her daughter's name several episodes ago. I'm guessing it was the horu when Kim first appears in this season. What I don't recall is whether she told Jack what his grandaughter's name is.

They were however Wilson was behind them. Since Wilson was behind Logan I wonder if he helped Marwan out back in season 4 when Marwan had that mercenary guy shoot down Air Force One. Was than to install his puppet Logan into office? I hope next season they stop all this conspiracy stuff involving all these defense contractor guys. Enough all ready.
