On this day 20 years ago, Voyager launched the UPN Network with Caretaker. I almost remember it like it was yesterday. Happy Anniversary Star Trek Voyager.

Wow, I still remember when it premiered. I was in high school, and completely into Star Trek, so it was an exciting time. :)

You know, in thinking about the 20th anniversary today I kept thinking about the other shows that helped launch UPN. Man I wish Nowhere Man and Legend would have been given a longer run. I read that it was a change in ownership that meant their downfall, but I wonder how they could have gone if they were given a chance. I remember Nowhere Man was actually a pretty decent premise at the time.

Twenty years ago I had yet to watch my first ST episode ever...

Remember Ba'el from Birthright?

"We were so happy, we didn't know that there was anything missing in our lives."

That kind of applied.

Yep, I remember that time well too, although high school was far behind me (I was 25). And you're right. It was an exciting time, for Star Trek, anyway.

I had actually forgotten that it was the 20th anniversary. I'm currently doing a re-watch of my Voyager DVD's. I picked it because it was the only Star Trek show I haven't re-watched in a while. I guess I picked an appropriate time though, eh?

I am in a totally random viewing mode. I can watch an early Ds9 ep. followed by a late Voy ep. and then a TOS or even a TAS. It's fun since I have to remember the context as I watch. It demands more attention than if I was watching them in production order.

I remember watching the premier episode and not liking it. Afterward switching to another channel to watch reruns of TNG. Then years later came back to watch Voyager and liking it.

Do you still not like the premiere episode?

I loved the premiere at the time. It wasn't till late in the first season that I first started to sour on it. Then I almost quit in mid season 3. When I came back I stuck with it till the end though.

Ditto. My favorite series. Can't believe it's been 20 years!

I remember being so anti TOS back then. My grandmother got me a TOS book and I was so bitter because it wasn't TNG era.
Thank God I got over that phase.

I first got really into Star Trek watching TNG in syndication between seasons 6 and 7, so when Voyager started the last new Star Trek I saw was All Good Things, one of the greatest episodes ever, and it was still relatively new to me. That night was probably the lifetime peak of my Star Trek excitement.

It was an great time to be a Star Trek fan. I remember there still being a real buzz about Star Trek in 1994/1995. The announcement of Voyager was greeted very warmly by the audience (even the general audience), and any news that came out about it was exciting.

The first time I watched Voyager, Enterprise was already started, it was during the cliffhanger when Archer was trapped in the 31st century at the end of the first season.
