2019 Releases

Excited! I hope KMFB finds the time to pen more Voyager, and that we soon get announcements from Christopher L. Bennett, too. And John Jackson Miller, and on and on. :bolian:

But knowing the familiar authors keep going is reassuring. :adore:

Of course, I'm still kinda irked that Mission to Gamma VI didn't make the schedule.

There's still hope for later in the year.

You write it, we buy it.

Good news all around and surprised. It's good to see there are now new novels in the pipeline AND I'm relieved to see they intend on continuing the relaunches (at least judging by the upcoming TNG book). It'll be interesting to see how they handle the destruction of Romulus as we are only months away now. And it seems they are releasing one a month starting next year so I'm hoping that continues like before as well.

I guess my question becomes this: how much direct and indirect references to Discovery are now going to be in the TOS novels?

Maybe @Greg Cox can answer this?

I was wondering about this too. Can we expect to start seeing references to Spock's foster sister, and Kelpians, and things like that?

Some writers did that when Enterprise started airing.

Suddenly references to a Captain Archer and a older Enterprise started popping up in the early 2000s.

Oh my, apart from the excitement today re: the three new announced Trek novels, hope K.Beyer's To Lose the Earth will be scheduled too in 2019, well depending on when she finishes writing it, of course.

Have they said anything about how many MMPB's a year and how many TPBs? I'm guessing the Tilly book will be a TPB, but will it count against the usual total of 12 books per year?

Up next, and due for release as the March 2019 title will be Star Trek: The Original Series: The Antares Maelstrom, by Greg Cox. The synopsis reads as follows: Baldur-3 is an obscure planet just beyond the outer fringes of Federation space, until a group of struggling colonists discover vast quantities of the energy source pergium beneath the planet’s surface. An old-fashioned “gold rush” is now underway—a chaotic situation, as neighboring planets and space stations are vastly ill-equipped to deal with the flood of vessels and aliens competing to get to the planet in time to stake their claims. Although Baldur-3 isn’t technically under Federation jurisdiction, Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise are soon diverted to deal with the crisis . . . one which lies on the other side of the dangerous area of space known as the Antares Maelstrom.
Hey Greg, anything you can tell us about which TOS era this is set during (5YM or movie-era)?
