2019 Releases

I feel like Kremlinology is kind of rude to do to someone's face (which is probably also why Therin didn't want to cite an author specifically, even about public posts on their blogs), so I haven't wanted to contribute potential interpretations

I agree with this. There’s a lot of reading between the lines that it’s possible to do, the since it puts authors - including some on this very board - in an awkward spot it does seem somewhat unseemly.

Are there any TrekLit specific panels or anything related to Trek Lit or merch in general at STLF? If we were to get the an announcement there, I was when it would be most likely to happen.

I can't seem to turn up any kind of panel schedule at all. The most I've found is news articles confirming that there will, in fact, be panels. One article said that the schedule usually goes up about a week in advance, so I guess it should pop any time.

The only author I spotted on the guest list is Kevin Dilmore, though the way they're presented all jumbled up (I guess vaguely in order of fan-interest, but once you get past the Discovery cast it seems pretty arbitrary) means I could've breezed past some others.

And there's a good chance Kevin is there because of his day job at Hallmark for the most part (don't they announce the Christmas ornaments there usually? ), him being a ST novelist probably is an added bonus at best.

I hope we'll get news about the books posted on Star trek.com when they post the daily convention news highlights or treknews.net

There is an author panel at 1 pm on Wednesday. It includes Jon Van Citters and Ed Schlesinger the editor of the Pocket line. I would be *shocked* if they paid to fly Schlesinger out there and there be no announcement. I’ll be attending and tweeting from the @TrekCore account to keep an eye out for announcements!

Cool, that is definitely the place for announcement, if we're getting one. Hell, the fact that it even exists is pretty good evidence of an announcement, since they'll need something to talk about. I guess they could just talk about old books, but that seems unlikely to me.

Ed Schlesinger is also on a Discovery fiction panel on Thursday at 1:30 pm and so there may be specific Discovery announcements as well.

Awesome news! Thanks Alex!

Thanks for the news Ales I hope there will be an announcement about new Star Trek books.:bolian::)

I think you're right. Just announcing that those two are going to be there is itself an indirect announcement. Hoping for good news.

I forgot to post yesterday that Trek Core has posted a schedule for STLV, with descriptions of all the panels. Here's what it says about the authors panel:
Trek Core said:

Everyone, we don't have much more time to speculate and jump to conclusions...

...that they're going to announce the end of the current novelverse and our precious continuity will be all gone forever! And most devastatingly, we'll never find out what happened to Pava's transporter double from Fallen Gods!

Hey that one actually does bother me.
