No Waterstones near you then?
I’m in rural Wales.
Not much of anything near me.

The simple truth of the matter is, Star Wars is much more popular than Star Trek.At the Barnes & Noble in Bay Shore, NY, the ST section keeps getting smaller :-( The Star Wars section is expanding.

Among the general public though? Yeah Star Wars totally is. The simple fact of the matter, Star Trek does not have annual movies hauling in multibillions of dollars at the box office.
That seems strange that ST readers would have such vastly different purchasing habits than SW fans.I hear that a lot, and the explanation I usually hear is that Trek readers tend to order their books online instead.

Ah Yes, one of the poorest areas in Western Europe who also had the stupidity to vote Leave.
I voted Remain. /QUOTE]
Given the results in Wales, clearly not everyone did.
No but I hate it when a thread I’m following goes off topic
No.
Normally I’d just stop following it; but I’m really interested in this thread and don’t want to divert it.
How brilliantly earnest. Are you new?
Well, they're different franchises in a lot of ways. There's overlap in their audience, but there'd be a lot of difference too. ST has been around a decade longer, for one thing, and ST books have been a steady going concern for more like two decades longer. ST is mainly a TV franchise while SW has been mainly a movie franchise until recent years, and is mainly in animation on TV. Plus ST is science fiction while SW is fantasy, and ST is more forward-looking while SW is very much nostalgia-driven. Honestly, I find it surprising when people talk about them as if they were equivalent. They don't really have much in common besides being set in space.
