Don't worry about stroking our collective ego - write a good, compelling show.
Wait, if you think the movies were made to appeal to the "lowest common denominator" yet you found them incomprehensible, what does that make you?
It makes me a better person than an unthinking JJ-bot who cherrypicks out of context quotes and on the shoulders of that strawman pretends he's outwitted someone.Wait, if you think the movies were made to appeal to the "lowest common denominator" yet you found them incomprehensible, what does that make you?
Hey, your material is improving and all without any meme in sight. Give this guy a gold star.Wooden acting?
Wooden acting?
Oh, I think this is a more representative metaphor of my outnumbered battle against the swarms of meme spoutin' JJ-bots and their 'Cadet to Captain in a week/nuthin-to-see-here' outlook.![]()

"Wooden acting" is like "lazy writing" - it's what you say when you've got nuthin' except "I don't like it."![]()
I'll tell you what's on my heart and I'll the truth too. I don't cheerlead. I'll praise when deserved, criticise when merited and I don't pull punches. If that's too much for you to take then I feel sorry for you but that's your prerogative, I can only take care of myself. And as for me, I like being tested, exchanging views and I enjoy good banter and I have no plans in changing this philosophy any time soon.Oh, I think this is a more representative metaphor of my outnumbered battle against the swarms of meme spoutin' JJ-bots and their 'Cadet to Captain in a week/nuthin-to-see-here' outlook.![]()
Why do you need to battle?
As for my part, all I did was make a humorous response to Bill's statement. Nothing personal toward anyone.
But, since you wanna get personal.
I have loved Star Trek since I was 4 years old.... and that's been 42 years now. That includes the JJ Abrams Treks. It's because of people like you that fandom sucks donkey yarbles, and I no longer want a part of it.
I'll chat Trek up with the best of 'em, but don't ever tell me that I am a lesser person for liking every aspect of Star Trek, no matter who spun it up. You will not meet a nice person.

we are talking about Keanu here though.
Was there a vote?Kurtzman needs to be aware that people want to see his vision of Star Trek about as much as they wanted to see David Lynch's vision of Dune.
Let Star Trek be Star Trek.
