Here's hoping they can get Price and/or Greinke in the offseason. They seriously need more than 2 good starters.
Both would be great but I imagine the Dodgers are going to aim their money cannon at Greinke. I can't really see him leaving that team unless he really, really hates the media presence out there.
Dan Haren announced his retirement last night, too, meaning there's another vacancy in the rotation. And given how much more Arrieta was worked this year than at any point in his career (roughly 90 innings more than his career high), I'm not sure they can count on him to be a demigod next year, either.
Ever since the Cubs beat the Cardinals, I was telling my wife that they were going to break my heart in the NLCS, but to be honest, I can't really fault them for turning into a pumpkin. They faced what is probably the sickest top-4 pitching rotation in baseball and they ran out of steam.
It was a fun ride. I'd say Go Mets, but I have such an unrelenting disgust for the Wilpons that I can't.
