I remember the same thing happening during Knicks-Heat games in the late-90s, and always found it amusing that there seemed to be more transplanted New Yorkers at games in both Miami and Orlando than either Heat or Magic fans.

That used to happen in Baltimore all the time. First time I went to Camden Yards, it was a Yanks/O's series in '12 and the crowd was like 80% Yankee fans. I don't think it's like this anymore.
Still lots of Cub fans at road games all over the midwest.
