2012 Dream Journal & Interpretation Thread

Perhaps.

I think the most logical explanation for my dream is the KFC I ate and the WW2 doco I watched right before I went to bed.

I offer this bit o' oddness from last night.

I dreamt that Mr. jes purchased fourteen cats. Why fourteen? Helfino. This was without telling me. Also, two of said cats could speak. So, it was twelve normal cats, and two that were, shall we say, turbo-charged.

I continue to have recurring dreams from time to time.

Not too long ago, I dreamt that my family and I were in a Las Vegas hotel again, though I don't remember which one. All I knew was that we were going to be staying in there for only a few days. So there was a sense of urgency in that I had to go to different hotels and attractions to make the most of my time. It just goes to show I need another vacation (as soon as I can take out another 401K loan). ;) :p

The dream I had last night was about living in another house with my family members again. I went to use the bathroom, and just like in other dreams, there were huge uncovered windows with a panoramic view of the outside. I got so conscious having realized there was a tourist bus right outside the house with people staring at me.

I've never had a recurring dream...at least not that I can recall. Last night I dreamed I was Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. You know, I kept switching between which one I was. It was totally sexy. I/we was/were kidnapped and thrown into the trunk of a car (we're talking the Benedict Cumberbatch incarnation), then persuaded by the kidnapper to investigate the case of a missing girl, whom we found in a pit, but who turned out to be the bait in a booby trap of disused warehouse proportions arranged by Moriarty (literary incarnation), who in my dream had purple hair and a sinisterly matching purple goatee. Things got weirder from thereon, as is always the case in my dreams.

I had a dream last night where I switched bodies with a young woman. (I think I got the better end of that deal.)

Last nite before I went to sleep, I watched part of Futurama rerun where the characters were swapping bodies...so...not gonna read too much into it. At least I didn't become a mop bucket.

It is odd to have any dream that has few real world references. I used to dream about my maternal grandparents' house a lot (long after they passed away)...to the point it was annoying the hell out of me. Or that my brother was still alive and faked his own death. But when its something totally unrecognizable/unfamiliar...I find that odd.

I continue to have recurring dreams from time to time.

I had a recurring dream over much of my childhood. It wasn't regular in occurance, but I must have had it dozens of times. It featured a small, isolated cove with steep cliffs, myself standing in the cove. It was night, and wet and stormy. Very atmospheric and dark. A tsunami rose up before me and I had to climb a rope-ladder on the side of the cliff, in order to get to the top before the water hit. I never made it...until one night I did, and there was a series of beams and girders before me, over which I could move, while the water settled just beneath me. I never had the dream again. I guess getting to the top was the objective.

It sounds pretty symbolic to me. Maybe in your waking life, there was an obstacle you were trying to overcome and you finally succeeded.

But dream interpretation isn't really scientific, much like body somatotypes and psychology.

Last night I dreamed Mitt Romney and President Obama were in my bedroom arguing over how to fix the water damage on the ceiling. The ceiling never got fixed. The satire is obvious, I know, but I was unconscious.
