2011 NFL Season - A New Game

after the Bengals/ Ravens game today, I NEVER want to hear the whine baby Ratbird fans to EVER say that the referees are never on their side EVER again!!!!! :vulcan:

Well, somebody had to get those calls since the squealers and their fans are enjoying their bye week by falling out of first place.
How about that intentional helmet to helmet hit (yet again!!!!), along with Suggs "Da Thug" hands to the face ALONG with his horse collar takedown on Dalton on the same damn play and no flag?!?!??!?! LET alone the reverse idiotic Winters overturning the Bengals tieing TD?????? I bet you Ratbird fans are proud of that one....:barf::barf2:

I'm not pyschic man, so I can't read someone's mind to determine intent - not for my team, or even for other team's headhunting goons. As for penalties, there are many during each game, some called, some not. Therefore, I have no "pride" in how refs choose to call games since the calls tend to even out.

Don't forget to clean up your :barf::barf:, it might smell up the thread. ;);):p

Thanks, Johnny Knox. Because you fell flat on your fucking face, you're giving us the Caleb Hanie Experience.

If I recall, last we saw Caleb Hanie he was busy not quitting on his team.

Why do I suspect that if Cutler had stayed in that game with his bad wheel and stunk up the rest of the game, the same people saying he quit would be saying he should have taken himself out in favor of a healthy QB?

Unless you're a doctor on the Bears' staff, you simply have ZERO CLUE what condition he was in. There shouldn't be ANYONE questioning Cutler's toughness after the past few seasons on the Bears.

FUCK THIS GAY EARTH

Are those of us on the straight part of Earth ok?

I got tickets tonight to hopefully see the Pats demolish the Flying Palkos. I wonder what would happen if the Minutemen Militiae run out of ammo.

Are you talking about the NFC Championship Game? Cutler went back in after the coaching staff had already pulled him. They had to take away his helmet to keep him from going back out onto the field after that series. He had a tear in his MCL, for God's sake. He didn't quit -- the coaches pulled him before he blew the whole goddamn thing up.

OHHELLNO. Somebody call Brett Favre. :shifty:

You shouldn't say things like that out loud, someone might hear you and think you're serious.

The universe in all its infinite glory would collapse upon itself if Favre joined the Bears.

Hanie seems like a competent backup in what little we've seen of him. It also helps that the Bears have a few games against sub .500 teams coming up. All Hanie has to do is not completely screw up (unlike Todd Collins last year) and the Bears will have a chance to win those games.

It's easy to say that, but it's not like the Bears' defense is lights-out like it was in 2005, when they were thriving with Rex Grossman under center. The secondary is still pretty woeful, especially Tillman, who gets burned two or three times a game, and Wright, who's talented but still has a really bad habit of over-committing on his coverage target.

Oakland will be a handful, and while I'm sure they can beat Kansas City, I'm not sure what'll happen against Seattle, considering they have the second-best rushing defense in the entire league right now. Right now, I'm thinking 3 - 3 is their best finish from here on out.

The Bears seem resigned to Cutler not returning until the playoffs, but I'm not sure 10 - 6 is enough to get an NFC wildcard, especially since the Lions hold the tiebreaker over the Bears.

On a far more distressing note, there were some rumblings from Halas Hall today that the Bears will be reaching out to gauge interest from some veteran quarterbacks; one report that I heard on the radio today was that Martz is actively pushing the team to give Marc Bulger a tryout. :barf:

Normally, I watch at least the first quarter of whatever primetime games are on to see if there's any hope of them being entertaining. I'm not even showing up to this game- I think I can find Stargate on somewhere.

I'm not sure why I'm watching it, it's kind of a foregone conclusion as to what's going to happen. Force of habit I guess. That and being a glutton for punishment.

WTF, the Chiefs threw on the first play of the game?

ETA: 3 and out on their first series. I'm shocked.

OK so let me get this straight Haley. You're on the Pats 35 with a 4th and less than a yard and you don't go for it. Then you turn around and try an onside kick and give them the ball deep inside your territory? :wtf:

I guess this is what you get when you hire a golf pro to be a NFL head coach.

Haley played golf in college. Settle down.

Honestly, up 3 - 0 early in the game, an onside kick isn't a terrible idea. It's not like the Chiefs have any playoff aspirations right now. Might as well have some fun.

I was under the impression something happened with the game clock. Or at least, that's what it seemed like. I think Palko was confused. It sure seemed like they were going to run a play. Either way, they got the ball back and a field goal.
