2011 Lineup

Does the Science Fiction Book Club still do those exclusive Trek hardcover compilations? It seems like I haven't seen one in ages.
I don't believe so. There were some serious shake-ups there about five years ago, Doubleday tried to fold it, and it's recently sprung back to life. But I'm no longer a member, so I don't really know if they're still releasing Trek fiction or not.

You forgot one, Ian. :)
The Science Fiction Book Club hardcovers
Didn't forget. I don't own any. No way to compare.
And you call yourself a fan. ;)

I prize my SFBC hardcover editions of Enterprise: The First Adventure, Strangers from the Sky, and Final Frontier which, with their dust jackets, look like they belong next to Spock's World and The Lost Years. :)

I wish the SFBC had published editions of Metamorphosis and Vendetta. (Though I should more correctly say that they may well have, but if so I've never been able to locate either.)

Apparently it's still a going concern since 365 is available.

You could go and study the shelves of a book shop (or another Star Trek collector).

Well, yes I could, only the Science Fiction Book Club exclusive hardcovers aren't available in retail stores. And I don't know any local collectors who have those books either.

If the OP still requires a photograph or scaled drawing, I can go and set one up for him.

I believe mention was made for increased royalties for TPBs versus MMPBs, was that correct?

In the case of something like an anthology, does that still hold true? Or do published authors just get a set, specific amount for their participation and that's it, regardless of numbers sold?

Nope, we get pro rata share of the royalties. I still occasionally get a check for the DOMINION WARS book . . . .

Hey Greg,

You done writing Trek books or you just fresh out of ideas?

Not at all. Don't forget, I wrote an entire nuTrek novel that ended up getting spiked at the last minute (although I got paid in full for it). And I've got a proposal for a new TOS book in the pipeline.

In the meantime, I'm busy with CSI and WAREHOUSE 13 . . . .

Thanks for the clarification, Greg.

No problem. It's actually more common to get royalties for the anthologies since the (smallish) advances earn out faster . . . .

Nice. I absolutely love love love W13 so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this sucker.

Just checked out the pilot for Warehouse 13 and I guess I will have to add the tie-in line (if there's one beyond A Touch of Fever) to my orders in the future. Good thing I don't have any other vices beside reading, or I would go broke. :scream:
