2009 Crapfest Begins!

On a related note, I'm not the only sick SOB here... SWMBO tracked down someone to print her a "Tumor-riddled Corpse Skank" t-shirt to wear to the hospital.

Piecostomus, hope everything goes okay.

And now, on topic...

I'm surprised you haven't consulted Tonya Harding yet, she has some experience in that area I believe.

ETA:
And for some decorating suggestions...
(backstory: earleier that year, BD lost his lower leg in Iraq)

I wondered the same thing.

Urban Dictionary sez: She Who Must Be Obeyed

Plecostomus, you and your SO will be in my thoughts. Glad to see you're both in such good spirits despite the situation, though.

I was wondering about SWMBO, too. :D

Plecostomus, I'm really sorry to hear about this, but I really admire your ability to deal with adversity through humor. Good luck to you and SWMBO on both the health and insurance fronts. :bolian:

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone. I think the money-side of things is taken care of for the moment, her parents more or less stepped up and offered to take care of a good chunk of it.

Also I accidentally landed a job with insurance. I went to a machine shop to get some drill-bits sharpened and started talking to the foreman about lasers and he was like "when can you start, $XX.XX an hour with insurance. Sweet, we'll see how long THAT lasts. :D

As for the Doonesbury arc, :guffaw:

I know a lady who can help you with getting an ice-skater's leg. Go to the Kerrigan House. Ask for Nancy (if you get her husband, make sure he works on discount).

Dude, I'm an engineer/machinist with mild OCD. We'd need TWO of them. You can't just swap ONE unit out there will be ISSUES. :wtf:

^^ Great news about the job. Good luck. :bolian:

The company isn't in great financial shape but they did agree to a contract so I get paid regardless. Going to be running the bending/fabrication area and doing CNC setup/programming as needed. Job is job. And the health insurance! Hooray on that. If fail becomes shit we got another fallback position.

You know what she really needs to take into the hospital with her? Her own germs

I can recommend Black Death...

Cute, I'll pass it on to her. She's still shaking her head at the whole "legless ice-skater" dialog. :D
I have Mono.
