I actually saw the beaning and subsequent ejection (I was on my way out, so I only caught a few minutes). I don't think I've ever seen a pitcher being ejected for beaning a player in the Majors.
Canada and the U.S. tied for gold in the Team Show Jumping event (in equestrian). Since ties aren't allowed, they had to have a jump-off, which the U.S. won. So Canada won silver, and we're quite pleased. You can't tie in gymnastics at the Olympics? But you can at every other gymnastic event? What kind of fucked up rule is that? I mean, it was in place going in, so it's fair in that the athletes knew of it -- but I don't understand the rationale in implementing the rule in the first place.

In the US they would have rushed the mound and had a huge fight in the same circumstances. They displayed a lot of self-control, except where they took it out on the Chinese catchers.
Go May and Walsh. They are so very dominate in this sport and I can't wait till the final either. Should be a good one. The Americans have had some difficulty beating the Chinese this Olympics, so maybe this is some payback.
Anyone following the Redeem Team. They are looking amazing so far and I think American international Basketball has made a triumphant return. The only thing I wish would be these players bringing back this good attitude and defense (Who knew?) to the NBA. Might make it a better league.

Depends whether you're measuring by total number of medals or by number of gold medals...Another sailing gold for GB... keeps us above Australia in the table.![]()

Golds, speaking of which we have 16 now after Christine Ohuruogu won the 400m! We're only two behind on total tally though.
