I thought this was pretty interesting.

There was a challenge to make a sci-fi short in 48 hours for a competition, and this was what the filmmakers came up with.

That was fascinating, although I'm not quite sure I understood exactly what was going on. Still, for something put together in 48 hours, that was impressive.

I'd be interested in seeing more independent SF films and shorts; I just don't seem to have much time to do so.

Edit: Still, from the Youtube page for this film, I see there are links to other 48-hour entries. I'll try to check them out when I do have time.

I found that fascinating. And reminiscent of a Larry Niven story I read a long time ago...

Okay, I had a little time to watch three more this morning. Two Years of Summer is still the best, but I also liked these ones. They all have gloomy endings, though. It seems to be harder to come to a happy ending when your film is three minutes long.

I remember that when SyFy Channel was still called the SciFi Channel, they occassionally showed independently-made shorts like this. Does anyone know if they still do this? I don't have access to the channel currently. It would be neat if they had an hour or half-hour block set aside per week to show films like these.
